Arrival Story:
Missy and her brother (yes, they are litter mates--genetics is a funny thing) came to me through my aunt Marcee. The two kittens I had recently adopted from the Phoenix pound had died from feline leukemia that they contracted probably from their mother. Distraught and disillusioned with the pound adoption system, I became very depressed. My aunt's vet in Burlingame, CA had found a feral mother cat and her litter under the porch of a house. The mother cat ran away, leaving 6 kittens behind. My aunt adopted these two on my behalf. Nine years and regular vaccinations later, Missy and Fitz are two of the happiest and sassiest cats around. It seems everyone who meets them loves them. Missy chirps when she is happy; she crawls into bed with my husband and I every morning; and she cleans her dumb brother everytime he comes in after briefly escaping into the outdoors. She is a sweet wonderful kitty.
Bio:
Just a personal note, my aunt Marcee was one of the best people to have ever walked the face of the earth. She passed away from breast cancer in 1998, leaving behind three wonderful kitties of her own. She fought the best possible fight for 6 years against this hideous disease; she was only 52 when she died. Her three cats live with my parents now. I think my kitties and her kitties are the living legacies of her goodness.
