Arrival Story:
Akira has just come to us on August 18, 2008. Our little Akira started out so very tiny. He was found behind our vet's office and thankfully our wonderful vet techs took such good care of him for the two weeks before we were asked to be his forever home. They knew we had just gotten Shai Ming and thought that Akira and Shai Ming could grow up together, being only a month apart in age. Since Akira has come home, he and Shai have become the bestest of friends and literally have separation anxiety if they can not see each other. We are blessed to have him in our lives. Akira's name was originally "Danny". Michelle at our vet's office named him that because of his weird "meow". He has a very raspy voice and makes the funniest little noises when he wants your attention. He's VERY quiet so we have to listen really well in order to hear him. We consider it part of his charm. Akira means "bright light" in Japanese.

Bio:
Unlike Shai Ming I don't stalked Big Sissy Bailey. This makes it so Bailey will actually let me lay near her. I think Shai is jealous MOL! Well more of my personality has come out. I AM A LOVE BUG! I like to lay on shoulders like a baby. I give the BEST forehead rubs (all the time, even when Momma and Daddy are sleeping, it wakes them up so they can pay attention to me). I'm not very good at stalking. I just walk right up to whatever it is I want to look at and meet it eye to eye. I LOVE to be outside, but only on a harness and leash. Momma always picks me up when the dogs come near too. I HATE that, I want to be friends with them Momma, let me meet them!! I am completely opposite of big Sissy Bailey, she doesn't like anyone and I love EVERYONE!!!

Akira...The NEW Kitty!

Seeing as Shai and Bay are talking to everyone, I thought I might better get in on the action!

This morning, after days of planning and watching, I ESCAPED THE BACK ROOM!!!

I've been trapped in there unless Daddy is holding me. Something about Shai and Bay not ready for my introduction. I personally think they are just afraid of my cuteness!

Momma was at her desk and Shai was laying there like the big suck up that she is purring as Momma was petting her.

So as they were distracted I made my move. I've been working at that door for a few days now and I got it figured out, but I didn't want anyone to know until I was ready.

So today was the great escape and I have been out playing with Shai's toys. They are great toys and I think that she will share with me.

She was chasing me this morning and patting my bottom, but she wasn't being mean, so I might just like her.

Momma says that since I have been really good in my litter box, she won't lock me back up today but let me be out. She still won't let me in the bathroom or the bedroom though. I guess I have to let her know I'm a big boy now and can use the litter box before she will let me in there.

Well off to pounce on Shai's wubba hehehe
