Arrival Story:
Vel was found by her previous owner as barely out of kittenhood, and very, very pregnant. She gave birth to a litter, but the lady could not keep any more animals. My mom mentioned to her that her daughter, me, was looking for a cat, because I had just lost another one. The lady asked if double paws were okay...my past 3 cats have been double-pawed, so she just smiled. The lady brought Vel to our house and she became my kitty.
Bio:
She used to be very standoffish. She was friendly, but didn't really like to spend much time with people. My uncle brought his German Shepard to visit, a known killer of cats, and Vel got loose. The dog ended up nearly breaking her neck when he got a hold of her, but she ended up getting away. She hid for about 2 weeks after that, but liked to be comforted. After that, she became much more affectionate and demanding of attention. Of course, she is taller than our Dachshund...

She also likes to wake people up in the morning by taking her huge paws and lightly batting your cheek. When you open your eyes, she leans in so her face is about 2 inches from yours. If you close your eyes again or don't pet her, she starts tapping on your cheek again.
