Arrival Story:
I adopted Maxy Boy in January 2007 and he has been a part of our family ever since. When I adopted him, I was newly married and completely stunned when I found out that my husband was going to have to leave home for a month because of some mandatory Army thing. Not wanting me to feel so lonely, especially since we were married for only a few months before we heard of this news, he decided to take me down to the local animal shelter to try to find a new member of the family to keep me company. Sitting in the kitty play area, I was surrounded by about half a dozen kittens playfully scampering around, not noticing anything else but their fellow play kitties. All, of course, except for one - my little Maxy Boy. As soon as I sat down, he immediately starting crawling towards me, sniffing me curiously. And as soon as I picked him up, I was in love and knew that was the kitty for me. Since then, Maxy Boy may have grown into an independent, mature adult cat...but to me, he will always and forever be that tiny little kitten that kept me company all those lonely nights and continue to give me his unconditional love whenever I need it.
