Meowmie's Venting

OK, kitties. I don't want to upset any of my furriends who might have a different opinion so I want to make it clear that the following diary entery is based on what my meowmie thinks- NOT me!

If you live in the US then I want you to know some things before November about Sarah Palin. I've known the name for a while now as I am very into wildlife and care a lot about the protection of habitat and the lives of all animals. Sarah Palin has placed a "bounty" on wolves in Alaska. Even baby wolf pups are killed. She also encourages the government to drill in Alaska in places already designated for wildlife. I'm thinking of moving to Canada - can I? I cried when I found out McCain picked her. Are we in the dark ages? Here's more info:

Approved a $400,000 state-funded propaganda campaign to promote aerial hunting.

Introduced legislation to make it even easier to use aircraft to hunt wolves and bears." (this is from Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund)

Does any of this make anyone else want to cry? What is wrong with this person? Planes make animals easy targets. Sorry, Sarah. It doesn't make you a "tough, gun- totin' American." It actually makes you just as sad as whoever shot the poor stray cat (laying in my spare room right now - paralyzed) with a pellet gun. Hurting animals for fun isn't cool, Sarah - serial killers start out doing that. Are you doing it for food, Sarah? Do you eat wolves and bears, Sarah? If so, I could understand that. Alaskans have to eat, too. Although, I seriously doubt you're eating them - maybe just putting their heads on your wall for decoration?

I am so proud to be an American. Our forefathers worked so hard for what we have today. People's children are dying overseas for this country - a silly war started by a silly man that people here fought and gave their lives for us to have the right to elect. So we, the majority, made a mistake. That's alright. But isn't it wrong not to learn from our mistakes? Are we going to repay the founders of this great nation for our right to vote by making another mistake and electing another moron (or, at least, someone who isn't bright enough to know they are choosing a moron to run with them?)

I know a lot of people will have a problem with what I just wrote. I do not want to offend anyone. I'm sure everyone reading this is, in some way, an "animal person" (or else you wouldn't be on this site!) I might just be a little more of an animal person then most and I want anyone who does care a lot about animals to know these little facts before election day.

I apologize if I said anything too mean or if I made anyone angry. However, I have just as much of a right to think it and say it as anyone else has to disagree with me. I'm lucky to live in this country and have that right. I wish we had advanced so far as to say that the animals who make their homes here had the right to live their lives without any added troubles as well - life can be hard enough for any animal, human or otherwise, without us going out of our way to make it worse.
