Arrival Story:
I adopted Otello from the Humane Society of Rockville, Maryland on 16 October 2002. He had been in the foster program and when I read his description, I knew I wanted to meet him. We were the perfect match, though he and my other two cats were not.

Bio:
Otello was diagnosed with chronic renal failure (CRF) in April 2004 and he fought a brave battle against the ravages of the disease. I got a lot of help in caring for him from a Yahoo group dedicated to cats with CRF, and from a wonderful resource at www.felinecrf.org. He managed to stay with us long enough to move to Switzerland in December 2004, and even visit Germany for a couple of months where a lovely person looked after him while I had to travel overseas for a family emergency. The last photo here was taken in Germany with his foster-friend Mäuschen. On 16 October 2005, I had to make the decision to euthanize him as his body just couldn't go on anymore and he no longer had the strength to fight. I miss him sorely.
