Blizz is still at the vet. he is now awake, and off the iv, we've ruled out FIP, Liver failure, Pancreatitis, and most cancer. now leaning towards either a rare disease, specific to angoras, or something genetic.

You're a fighter. I'm so sorry to hear about all the horrible sickness you've been fighting. When I wasn't eating at the hospital in November my vet made me a slurry that was 90% KMR and 10% recovery diet wet food and it finally made me eat. Maybe that would appeal to you. We're all cheerin' for ya! Thanks for keeping us updated. Many prayers for Blizzard. He is so well loved. I heard about him in a group I belong to called Movin & Groovin- requesting prayers. We found out immediately what the problem was and fixed it right up and I've been improving since. We're still sending you purrs. Oh no Blizzard! I'll be purring and purring nonstop for you. All those things you ruled out are very scary, so thank god you don't have those at least. Wouldn't you know it'd be something unusual and unique. It was diagnosed as something cats rarely get here....my vet had never seen it before in a cat. the only reason she tested for it was because I had all the symptoms, which sound like some of yours. I, Mr. Blizzard, like you, are a Turkish Angora. I was treated with what I tihnk was flagyl-not sure why-and also the IV. I was fed babyfood, which I did begin to enjoy, and mommy got me over the not eating thing by...tabbies would love this....bringing me fresh cooked trout. Mommy will try to find out what it was I had...she doesn't remember. I had 'weird' stuff that mommy didn't really put togther with it but then made sense much later-I had a recurrent hot spot for years that was hard to get rid of...finally did....and also I had weird dark stuff on my claws...still do....a type of fungus.... This thing I had...not seen in cats-sometimes in dogs and more in dairy animals. Not sure if that helps at all. PS-I was ok in a weeks time, also went home, and aside form my age related stuff, didn't get it again. We are all purring up a storm for you here, and mommy is lighting her 'Blizzard Candle' today!
