Arrival Story: Ratchet was a surprise kitten given to me by my stepdad, Gary. He (Gary) was home when my beloved, 14 year old Siamese Koko passed away while I was on vacation. I was so upset that I couldn't have been here with Koko, and Gary felt so sad for me. Koko had been gone for about a month when Gary first got the idea to get me a kitten. This is a huge deal because Gary isn't really a cat lover (unfortunately!). Don't get me wrong, he likes my cats, but would never get one of his own. One day I was at home sitting at my computer working and Gary walked in with a box. When I opened it there was an adorable little face peeking back out at me. I fell in love with Ratchet right then.

Bio: I've only had Ratchet for a week but he has been such a joy! He is very loving and follows me everywhere. My other two cats were a little hesitant at first but after the first day warmed up to Ratchet and they play together all day long. Ratchet loves to play with his toys and is always looking for hugs. As he grows I'll be sure to update his page so you can all watch him grow with me.
*Well I've had Ratchet for 2 months now and boy, is he growing! He has become such a loving, playful little guy. He is at that stage where is in into any and everything! Now the table is no longer off limits because he can pull himself up from the chair. He's also found a fascination with the fireplace. I wonder what he'll think about it in the winter when there's a fire in it.
**Ratchet is 8 months old now and such a handful!!!! He is totally and completely fearless! I have tried to keep him off of the kitchen counters but it doesn't matter what I do. He keeps getting up there. No amount of coaxing him off, pushing, yelling, or crying keeps him off of there. He is too stubborn! His sister Circuit is his best playmate, but his puppy cousin Crash holds a very close second. They wear each other out (thank goodness!). Ratchet is quite the momma's boy and will cry if he can't sleep with me at night!

This morning I heard a phrase that I don't hear all that often, mol! "Good boy Ratchet!!" I've heard it a few times, but it's kinda rare.
Every morning the humans in my house have this stuff called coffee. The coffees come out of a machine on the counter. (I've jumped up there to check it out before but always get in trouble for doing that.) This morning my Grandmew (Mommy's mom) was making the coffees but things didn't go as they usually do. I was sitting in the kitchen watching the coffee beans getting grounded up and the water being poured into the coffee machine. My grandmew pushed the start button and we both walked away. As I was running into the living room to give Mommy a good morning headbutt, I heard a strange noise. I skidded to a stop and turned towards the kitchen to listen. Mommy saw me doing this, but she didn't think too much of it since I'm always interested in everything. I ran into the kitchen to investigate. The noise was coming from the counter. It was the coffees escaping! Instead of falling into their pot, they were dripping all over the counter because the pot wasn't there! I started meowing and Mommy came to see what I was yelling about. She saw the coffees dripping onto the counter and floor because Grandmew forgot to put the pot under it to catch them! The little coffees where running down the cabinet doors and I tried to lick them up for Mommy but I didn't like them very much. Mommy was so proud of me for letting her know there was something wrong! She was able to catch the rest of the coffees in their pot. I don't think too many of them escaped.
I got some treats but the best part was being called a good boy! I've been told I'm too curious & hard headed for my own good, so I usually hear things like "NO!", "Stop that Ratchet!", or "Bad boy!". Maybe I could get used to being called a good boy. Then again... Being bad is so much fun!

My pal Captain tagged me to participate in the Thanksgiving Tag game! I've gotta list 5 things I'm thankful for.
1~ I'm thankful that I have a home. Lots of pets (and people!) don't have that and I am so unbelievably glad to have a warm, safe place to live.
2~ I'm thankful for my mommy. She takes such good care of me. I always have food, water, and toys galore! She is always there to give me hugs and scratch my ears. And even though it hurt, she loves me enough to give me shots to make sure I don't get sick.
3~ I'm thankful I have pawsome siblings! Austin & Circuit are the best big brofur & sisfur I could ask for. They are great for wrestling and snuggling up next to when I'm sleepy.
4~ I'm thankful that I have such pawsome friends!! My Catster buddies are the best and I'm glad to know each and every one of them.
5~ I'm thankful that I'm a healthy kitten. I've been blessed to not have had any sickness or problems. I know my mommy is thankful for that too, MOL!
Thanks Captain for tagging me! I really do have a lot to be thankful for.
