I went hyper

Last week I found out I have hyperthyroidism. I guess it's not that shocking since I am 13 and my sister, Pandora, was treated five years ago when she was only 8. What a bummer though. Right now, I get a pill every day to get my thyroid levels down. Not bad, since mom disguises it in a pill pocket. Tasty!

I'll be retesting in a few weeks and then it's decision time. Pandora had iodine radiation therapy but I'm not that thrilled about that. She was in quarantine at Colorado State University for 12 days!! I really don't know if I can handle being away from my family that long and I really don't like strangers. The other option is surgery, which might be better but sounds kind of painful. The best thing might be to stay on these pills if I can. We'll see what the vet says.
