Arrival Story:
It was September 2001 and I was in the middle of my divorce. My husband and son had moved out (for vastly different reasons) and my beloved cat Cleo had died. I think the shock of so much loss was too much for her heart (she'd been taking cortisone shots for allergies). Cleo was a mixed breed and I thought I'd have her for 20 years, but alas, it was only 13. Anyway, to help fill the void, I decided to look for a Himalayan kitten (we'd had one, Teddy, while the kids were growing up and he was wonderful). To make a long story short, I went to the breeder who had something like 25 absolutely beautiful, well-cared for cats. No young kittens, though, but one cutie who acted as if she owned the place. Although initially I thought I'd like a kitten, Savannah (her name, then and now) was so self-assured and comfortable with the other cats that I knew she'd do well with Sasha, who could be quite the diva. So I brought her home and although Sasha was really annoyed, Savannah got in her face and showed her she was not afraid. A lesson in chutzpah we can all learn from!

Bio:
Savannah is a wonderful cat. She's very affectionate and rarely leaves my side. Right now she's sleeping on her back with her little paws crossed over her eyes and it's so cute I can't stand it! She's also very playful and likes to chase balls. I know when she's under the weather because she acts completely differently and hides.
