Arrival Story:
I had lost two of my four cats in 2007. I had told myself that I would wait until summer 2008 to get more kittens. Then, suddenly, at the beginning of a fortnight's holiday over Christmas 2007 I had this urge to get a kitten. I had a half-baked idea of wanting a cross-breed, so that the new cat would be clever. I did an online search and there was this little black scrap looking up at me., a Siamese/Bengal cross whose had been let down for her planned forever home. Seemed like fate and four days and a 400 mile round trip I brought Mitzi home, along with Flynn who was bought on an even more spur of the moment decision.
Bio:
Mitzi was only 7 weeks when I brought her home. I think my brain had gone into meltdown because I had not grasped how terribly small she way. She was super active, eating solids and played with everything, particularly her companion kitten, Flynn. Five days later I realised I had a real problem as she was growing but losing weight - her food was going straight through her. Of course, it was over Christmas and the emergency vet told me that she was going to die. She did drop to 460g (1 lb). But she came through, which is a testament to her tremendous will.
