Arrival Story:
Teddy came into our lives a brand new little fluffball of a kitten. He was the greatest, sweetest cat in the world. When Teddy was about one and a half we noticed that he was having some problems breathing, and would often cough and gag. We initially thought that it might be a hairball but soon grew worried that it was something worse. Unfortunately we when we took him to the vet, they informed us that fluid had been seeping into his lungs and that they were functioning at minimum capacity. The vet proceeded to remove 300 ccs of fluid and put him on a strict regimen of stress-free living and water weight pills to prevent any extra seepage. The trauma of the procedure made Ted a very weak kitty. His mommy, girlfriend, and human-brother, took turns spending every minute around him making sure he was loved and fed. His medication was adjusted because the pills were zapping too much water from his little body and afterwards he slowly turned back into the kitty that everyone knew and loved. We were so thankful that we were able to nurse him back to life! Unfortunately for Mr. Ted, his ailment returned one year later and more fluid had to be taken from his lungs. The vet said it was due to a hole in his heart and that there was nothing more they could do than to continue draining him. Most of the fluid was removed the second time but two weeks later he was having difficulty breathing. Shortly thereafter Mr. Ted left us for that kitty paradise in the sky. Although we miss him incredibly, he will always be in our hearts. Teddy was only in this world for a short few years, but we know that we gave him the best life a kitty could dream of having. He was always loved, he was rarely alone, and we fought to give him an extra chance at life when others would have just given up.
