Arrival Story:
Fredo is a 12 year old fellow who has hyperthyroid and high blood pressure. His owner was moving out of the country, and she felt that the flying and six month quarantine would be too much for him. Fredo's owner was told by the first rescue she talked to that no shelter would accept him and would put him to sleep. They told his owner to contact us. That rescue was correct - Fredo is exactly the kind of cat that we are here for. The old, blind, those with medical problems, the kind of cats that no shelter in the world will take and give a chance to live.

Bio:
Fredo is not sick right now as long as he takes his medicines. He is a very friendly loving, fellow who purrs a lot! Nov. 8, 2008: Fredo was helped along to the Bridge today. He had gone into renal failure. He could no longer stand or walk and had to be fed with a tube. It was time for him to go to the Bridge and he had a peaceful passing. We know he's enjoying perfect vision at the Rainbow Bridge, playing and climbing and loving.

We are a registered non profit with the state of North Carolina. There are no paid employees, only volunteers, so all contributions go directly to the kitties. Rescue is about restoring hope and dignity to creatures for whom no one else cares about. We are but humble vessels to help these magnificent creatures find their forever homes. The responsibility is big but the returns on our emotional investment are greater. You cannot place a value on the look of contentment that comes when an animal is clean, exercised, warm, fed and safe for the first time in its life.
