Arrival Story:
A lady in Minnesota who fed stray cats found Cora walking in the snow towards the food bowl. She noticed something was different about this cat (She was friendly, unlike the ferals that she fed, and she was blind!) and took her in. This kind lady found herself in the situation of having to move and could not find a place that she could afford that would allow her to have her animals. She put a call for help on the Internet, and we offered to give Cora a home. Cora is a love bug! She loves to sit in your lap and purr. She also loves to go outside. You will see her outside on pretty days, just hanging out and lying in the sun. Cora has developed bleeding blood vessels in her large blue eye. The vet felt it would be best to remove that eye. She came through surgery like a champ!

Forums Motto:
Sunshine Makes Me Purr!

Sanctuary:
Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary was started to answer the need for a safe place for blind cats that were deemed unadoptable by regular shelters and were going to be killed just because they are blind. We are a registered non profit with the state of North Carolina. There are no paid employees, only volunteers, so all contributions go directly to the kitties. Rescue is about restoring hope and dignity to creatures for whom no one else cares about. We are but humble vessels to help these magnificent creatures find their forever homes. The responsibility is big but the returns on our emotional investment are greater. You cannot place a value on the look of contentment that comes when an animal is clean, exercised, warm, fed and safe for the first time in its life. Please visit our website at www.blindcatrescue.com to find out more and learn how you can help.
