Arrival Story:
Bella was born blind. She was found by a wonderful lady eating out of her Great Danes food bowl. Bella was only approxiately six weeks old!! This nice lady took this stray cat to the urgent care because her eyes were such a mess. (Can you imagine? She actually took her to the vet?? I volunteer at a large shelter and most people who find strays keep them for years without getting them so much as their shots!) And then, she took her to her regular vet and got her her first set of shots, wormed and combo tested. After all that, she called the shelter and asked us to take her because she was afraid the dogs would harm her.

Bella is a sweetie who loves to walk around and never stops talking!
Sadly, Bella journeyed to the Bridge in Feb., 2009. We miss this beautiful angel very much here at the Rescue.

Sanctuary:
Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary was started to answer the need for a safe place for blind cats that were deemed unadoptable by regular shelters and were going to be killed just because they are blind.
We are a registered non profit with the state of North Carolina. We have no paid employees, just devoted volunteers.
Rescue is about restoring hope and dignity to creatures for whom no one else cares about. We are but humble vessels to help these magnificent creatures find their forever homes. The responsibility is big but the returns on our emotional investment are greater. You cannot place a value on the look of contentment that comes when an animal is clean, exercised, warm, fed and safe for the first time in its life.
