Natasha is a sweet kitty, though she's still a bit shy. She is so happy to have a safe home.
Natasha is one of the blind cats at the Blind Cat Rescue & Santuary in North Carolina. This poor little baby has had a rough start for such a young life. She and her sister Olivia were found as strays with bad eye infections. The lady that found them was also a foster home for a local rescue. They helped her get the kittens fixed, etc., and she was keeping them for the time being.
This kind lady ended up getting ill and was committed to a long time stay in a mental institution. Her soon to be ex-husband decided to put the house up for sale while she was gone. He called the rescue and told them they had two days to remove all the cats or he would dump them at the pound. There was 18 cats at immediate risk. The rescue did not have foster homes for 18 cats!!
One of the rescue workers took all 18 to her house and set them up in crates in her garage. She immediately went on the internet to search for help. Natasha came to us a few days later from South Carolina.

GA Blind Cat Needs HELP!
Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary was started to answer the need for a safe place for blind cats that were deemed unadoptable by regular shelters and were going to be killed just because they are blind.
We are a registered non profit with the state of North Carolina. There are no paid employees, only volunteers, so all contributions go directly to the kitties.
Rescue is about restoring hope and dignity to creatures for whom no one else cares about. We are but humble vessels to help these magnificent creatures find their forever homes. The responsibility is big but the returns on our emotional investment are greater. You cannot place a value on the look of contentment that comes when an animal is clean, exercised, warm, fed and safe for the first time in its life.

Okay, everyfur, here it goes!
If you're tagged, you must answer these questions about yourself or your family. Then tag three furriends in our group to join the fun. You can post in the group about who tagged you and what gift you received to say thanks.
I'll go first!
#1: It's a month of thanksgiving. For what are you most thankful this year?
I'm thankful for all of you who love the blind cats here at BCR so much. Without our supporters and sponsors, blind cats like me might not survive. I love you all!!!
#2: Describe the Thanksgiving dinner of your dreams!
Mmmmm...roast turkey with a touch of cat milk gravy...fresh tuna casserole with catnip garnish...yeast rolls with honey...shrimp cocktails...thin ham slices with brown sugar...for dessert - ice cream in an assortment of flavors with crunchy cat treat toppings! Let's eat!!!!!
#3: To whom do you dedicate this Thanksgiving? What special furriend are you remembering this year?
I dedicate my Thanksgiving to our dear angel Sylvester. He died from a rattlesnake bite in my own cat house not too long ago. He was such a brave blind kitty, surviving first in Kuwait, journeying to the USA, then taking on a snake! He may well have saved many feline lives, including my own. I'm so thankful for having had Sylvester as my furriend.
Three questions, three furriends from our BCR group! Have fun and let's remember to be thankful for our blessings this November!

I'm one of the blind cats at Blind Cat Rescue of North Carolina. Because of my difficult early life, I'm very shy. Kind of one of those cats nobody notices. So being recognized today is very special for me!!
Please take a moment today and visit BCR at www.blindcatrescue.com to see the amazing work being done there for so many blind cats. Each has its own special story and has overcome so much. We hope you will vote for us to win a prize at www.theanimalrescuesite.com. It's quick and easy so please vote every day. The blind kitties will purr for you!
Thank you, HQ, for this honor! I'm one happy blind cat!

My furriend Little Blaze has tagged me for a game! I love to play, so here's my first diary entry!
(Note to those that I tag...Just copy the questions and deleted my answers, if you're invited to play, too. Then tag four furriends to play along!)
1)-What color is your collar? I don't have a collar but if I did, I would choose a red one! I'm a blind kitty, but red sounds like a very exciting color!
2)-What kind of food do you eat? Here at Blind Cat Rescue, we eat
Authority foods. I love the seafood flavors best!! Mmmmm!
3)-What are your favorite treats? I love the soft seafood treats like Pounce!
4)-Do you have a Valentine or significant other? No, but I live in a cat house with many furriends who are blind like me. I have lots and lots and lots of furriends!!!!
5)-Do you get table scraps? No, we aren't fed table scraps. What are table scraps? Are they delicious?
6)-What is your favorite toy? I love anything catnip!!!! I also love a ball with a bell inside. The bell tells me where it's hiding!
7)-When is your birthday? I don't know...I'm a rescue kitty so we don't know my real birthday.
8)-How many times a day do you get to eat? Twice a day
9)-Do you have a favorite color? I'm a blind cat, so I don't know about colors. Red sounds exciting, and blue sounds very pretty.
10)-Do you hope all your pals put this in their diary? Oh, yes!!!
My turn to tag!!! I will invite these kitties to play:
4. China Doll
Have fun, everycat!
