Arrival Story:
Gavin was one of three surviving kittens of a momma cat we trapped and TNR'd near our home. The two other boys, both grey tabbies like their mom, went to an adoptive home. Gavin, the wildest of the three, stayed with us until we could tame him sufficiently for adoption. Eventually, we did tame him, but his blue, blue eyes and fearlessness reminded us so much of San Francisco's Mayor Gavin Newsom that we absolutely had to keep him for ourselves. Mayor Newsom championed the civil marriage rights for our community - he is our hero. So we honored Mayor Newsom by christening our fierce little warrior kitty after him.
