Arrival Story: Back in 2005 and 2006, I house sat for a co-worker and his wife and they had 4 cats. They moved to a new house and had someone closer to them cat sit when they went on vacation. Whoever watched them didn't clean out the litter box so Sadie II and Munchie started retaliating by going to the bathroom everywhere except for in the litter box. So the owners started kicking them outside. They are moving back to Illinois soon and will be taking the 2 male cats with them but decided they aren't going to take Sadie II and Munchie with them. They couldn't find homes for them so they were either going to abandon them at the house or take them to the Humane Society and have them put to sleep. I didn't want 2 more cats but I couldn't allow them to suffer or be punished just because they were no longer wanted by their previous owners. So, they have a 2nd chance with me.
Bio: Sadie II arrived at my house with her daughter Munchie. They do not get along at all. They hiss and growl at eachother whenever they see or smell eachother. Something had to happen at their other house to cause such a rift between them.
I already have a black and white cat named Sadie (which I named her after Sadie II not knowing that I'd be Sadie II's owner a few months later) so they're both going to keep their names. To avoid the confusion here on the site, this Sadie became Sadie II.
The previous owner stated that Sadie II was 7 so I calculated her age 7 years back from the day she came to my house. So, 10 Jul 01 is her new birthdate.
Update: 26 Jul 2011 Sadie crossed the bridge today while I was at work. Sadie had been slowing down and down and I kind of knew her time was near. She would just lay on the floor and didn't care if the dogs stepped on her. She knows she was loved and she was part of the family. She was laying on the floor when I found her lifeless body. I'm hoping the other furbutts in the house let her cross peacefully. Rest in peace sweet Mama Sadie! I love you and always will.
