Arrival Story: Alley, the neighbor's cat, began visiting us and she was malnourished. We began to feed her and she would come back looking for food. One day Mary Beth was petting her and noticed she was nursing, so we made certain she got extra to eat. Then, she brought 2 beautiful black kittens with her. One was all black and one with a white bow tie, they were about 3 to 4 weeks old. (When Mary Beth saw the one with the white bow tie she knew she would be her's--she felt that she'd been sent this little one to help heal the hurt of loosing Samson-also a black cat with a white bow tie-three months earlier. ) Alley would nurse the girls and go off. Then she would not come back a couple of days and would repeat the cycle. One day Bow Tye's sis Scaredy disappeared, so we brought Bow Tye inside. Her sis returned a couple of days later. They were eating fine and the vet helped us with suggestions on what to feed them (baby food, etc.). We used a playpen for these girls and it worked fine (a sheet over the top) for a few weeks, then they began to run the house. Bow Tye began to make herself known here at about 2 years old. She determined that she would be the Queen (Even tho we already had 6 year old Lilly who felt she held that position. Then Lilly's health failed sadly and Bow Tye did become the head female.) Bow Tye has been Spayed.
Bio: Bow Tye's mama is Alley (Mary Beth is her 2nd mama); Scaredy, Bear, Titi, Tiger, Boss, Lila, Lulu and Mo (lives with Mary Beth) are her siblings; Fluffee and Star are her nieces; and her adopted sibs include: Socks, Patches, K.I.T.T. and Oreo.
Lives Remaining: 9 of 9

I've Been On Catster Since:
I have a new habit that some have already written about. I wake mommie up for her to add to my food or to let me out, Just like she does Oreo. I scratch her back, side or arm and she gets up and does my bidding. Her mom told her that I need to be seen by the Dog Whisperer (mommie did point out that I am a cat-but grandma was trying to get a point across) and that I needed to unlearn this habit. She says that mommie needs to become the boss and not us. I don't think I want mommie talking with grandma too much, she just might get some ideas. Like closing her bedroom door--but as long as Oreo has to eat his "special" food, she won't do that. She would have to put all food up everynight, because he will eat from another bowl if he doesn't get his food.
I've been staking the building out every night for a while now. There are mice in that there building and I am getting mine. The only problem is that I have been vomiting off and on. Mommie thinks that maybe I am eating them and then gorging to get rid of the excess, but only the food I gorge is coming back up. Tonight I am inside and just resting. Maybe I should lay off the mice for a while, too much of a good thing isn't always good.
I love to sit with Mommie when she is reading. As soon as she opens a book, the newspaper or a magazine, I like to jump up in her lap and lay right across whatever she is reading. She always tells me I need to move over a bit, so she can see what she is reading. She is trying to read the Bible through this year and while she is doing it, she reads out loud for us. Some of the others will come and lay by mommie while she is reading. I am usually on her lap (after she moves me off the Bible). She always liked to read to her grandkids, but she doesn't see them much now, so she enjoys reading to us now. I really like to think that I am the most intelligent cat here because I like the reading the most. xoxoxo :) Bow Tye
We have friends who need homes, within 100 miles of the Los Angeles area, Tidbit (Adopt Me); Dillon (Adopt Me) and Chili (Adopt Me), please remember them in prayers.
I just cannot figure it out. Someone coughs up a hairball and here comes mommie with that cat lax. I DO NOT LIKE IT. I let her know that every single time, yet I still end up having to eat it even tho I have not had a hairball myself. She said something about us black cats shedding more than usual right now, so we are going to get the stuff more often. I'll just make sure I hit mommie's ribs really good the next time I jump on her, then off her. That should teach her!!!! :) Bow Tye
