Arrival Story:
My late husband and I had just adopted a male Himalayan kitten (Joey, aka Joe Montana Barfield) back in 1994 (after my first cat, Toby, passed over The Rainbow Bridge). Joey was supposed to be MY cat but he ended up becoming more attached to my husband. I was feeling kind of depressed about that and was outside in the yard when I noticed a really pretty gray Siamese young cat standing on the fence. I went up to her and she let me pick her up and she just started purring. I had seen her briefly at the neighbor's house but I knew she did not belong to them, so she became my cat at that point. I named her Jenny (to go with Joey, aka Joe Montana, because Joe's wife is named Jennifer, so we had to have Jennifer Montana Barfield to go with Joe Montana Barfield - LOL). She then became Jenny-Penny and later when we adopted a Dachshund dog named Jenny, Jenny-Penny became just Penny. Since that time, Joey the cat and Jenny the dog have gone over The Rainbow Bridge, and so has my husband that I was married to at the time. Pen-Pen is still here and has been through several roommates, loving each and every one, and my present husband, Tony, (who has lived here for 3 years), and Pen-Pen have fallen in love as well, she sleeps on the bed by his head at night. I have been very blessed to have this wonderful cat in my life -- she is the best cat I have ever lived with -- and I am also very blessed to have a God-given husband who loves my cats as much as (or possibly more than) I do myself!

Bio:
Penny is the most "elder" pet in the household now so that makes her The Queen -- and all that that implies!!! She takes no guff from any of the "young buck" cats (which there are 4 other than her) and the dogs are learning quite well to walk a wide path around her!
