Arrival Story:
Misty was found hiding in a Suburban's wheelbase in a parking garage at work. She was only about 6-8 weeks old, dirty, and covered with fleas. I heard her meowing on two different occassions the same day but each time I got close to the vehicle she would stop. A friend let me borrow a flashlight and low and behold I saw some of her fur. We got her unwedged from her spot and she went running across the parking lot. After retrieving her from not one but 2 vehicles she crawled into I finally was able to secure her in a box with air holes for the next hour before I could leave work. I had no intentions of taking on the responsibility of a pet since I was recently divorced and didn't need vet bills and a mouth to feed. She was very timid at first and it took her a couple of weeks to start coming out of hiding in my apartment. I posted a free kitty ad at the office and it wasn't long before someone wanted to take her home. On the scheduled day of delivery I went home to get her and after crying for about 30 minutes with the thought of giving her up I made the decision to keep her. She has been with me for over 8 years now and has been an absolute joy!!!!

Bio:
I believe she rode in on a co-worker's vehicle who happened to of adopted a gray male kitten about the same age as Misty from his neighborhood.
