Meowmy had a big performance last night. She came home with some beautiful flowers, which she put into a tall vase.
This morning, I decided it was my turn to play a concerto. I leaped up onto the MIDI piano, which inadvertently had been left on. The opening of my solo piece was low, loud and dissonantreminiscent of a certain pivotal moment in the song Charlie Rutlage by Charles Ives. After a few minutes of silence in the style of John Cage, I continued my concerto into the higher octaves of the instrument, producing combinations similar to the complex, shimmering harmonies of Olivier Messiaen. During a brief reprise in the low register, meowmy started flashing lights at me. Thats when I cut my concerto short and skipped directly to the coda. I walked up to the top of the keyboard and jumped off. It was a brilliant performance!
Where are my flowers, meowmy?

As many of you may already know from a previous diary entry, I am named after the 19th-century German pianist and composer, Clara Wieck Schumann. Well, this morning, I proved to meowmy that I really am a pianist! You see, meowmy has a MIDI piano that she uses for music input into her computer. Yesterday, she did a music project and forgot to turn off the keyboard when she was done. This morning around 5:15, meowmy was awakened by the beautiful sounds of me playing the piano. For the next 45 minutes, every time I shifted my weight, sweet tinkly tones would emanate from the musical instrument. Meowmy was impressed that for a cat thats a little bit fat, I actually have a lovely, delicate touch! MOL!
Sincerely,
Clara
