Arrival Story:
The night of Friday, June 13, 2008, I appeared on meowmy's front porch. I was scared and hungry, and I desperately wanted to come inside. Because I was tame, meowmy assumed I was someone's lost pet. She gave me some food, but she didn't let me come into the house. After 3 nights of returning to meowmy's porch desperate and hungry, meowmy took me in and got me checked at the vet. Meowmy posted some "found orange cat" notices, but the only inquiries were for lost males. So eventually I became a member of the Meowler family.

I am happy to have the security and comforts of a home, but I am not sure about all the other cats. I am quiet, and I prefer to be left alone. I don't cause any trouble, and there have been no fights between us. I am not as active as the other Meowlers, so meowmy thinks I'm an older kitty. I am grateful for being rescued into a loving home. UPDATE Nov. 9, 2015: I was diagnosed with acute kidney failure this morning. My meowmy and my vet tried to save me, but my health continued to decline. At about 8:30PM, I crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I am now forever with my sweetie, Fuzz! Thank you, meowmy, for giving me a wonderful life of love and comfort.

I'm With My Sweetie, Fuzz, at the Rainbow Bridge

Dear Diary,

I crossed the Rainbow Bridge around 8:30PM today. I had refused to eat yesterday, so meowmy took me to the vet this morning. I was diagnosed with acute kidney failure. Meowmy and my vet tried to give me the chance to recover, but my kidneys were gone. I had very little time left, so meowmy and my vet helped me cross the Bridge. And guess what? My sweetie, Fuzz, was there waiting for me! Thank you, meowmy, for providing me with a loving and secure home on Earth. Fuzz and I are now happily together forever!

Dear Diary,

Today has been a furry sad day for me. My dear, sweet boyfuriend, Fuzz, made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge this morning. Fuzz was a handsome orangie boy and was such a love. He was gentle with his brofurs and sisfurs as well as his human furmily. We were a happy couple for over 3 years. I will miss my sweetie very much. I feel so empty right now. Someday I'll join Fuzz at the Bridge, and we will be together forever.

Tears and purrs,

Clara’s Concerto

Meowmy had a big performance last night. She came home with some beautiful flowers, which she put into a tall vase.

This morning, I decided it was my turn to play a concerto. I leaped up onto the MIDI piano, which inadvertently had been left on. The opening of my solo piece was low, loud and dissonant—reminiscent of a certain pivotal moment in the song “Charlie Rutlage” by Charles Ives. After a few minutes of silence in the style of John Cage, I continued my concerto into the higher octaves of the instrument, producing combinations similar to the complex, shimmering harmonies of Olivier Messiaen. During a brief reprise in the low register, meowmy started flashing lights at me. That’s when I cut my concerto short and skipped directly to the coda. I walked up to the top of the keyboard and jumped off. It was a brilliant performance!

Where are my flowers, meowmy?
