Isis is VERY vocal, and she loves to catch lizzards. She can jump and run like an olympic sprinter. She really is the fastest kitty I've ever seen, thats why we call her Rocket kitty. And, she's cute to boot!

Arrival Story:
I went to a shelter to look for a cat, and I actually didn't have anything in mind. I figured, I'll know it when I feel it. I was there for about 25 minutes, in the pen outside meeting and playing with all the cats that were up for adoption. I thought I had decided on this gorgeous shy little dark tortie, when Isis leaped from her ledge into my arms. The shelter associate said she had never seen her do anything like this, because Isis NEVER EVER EVER let anyone pick her up and always eluded the staff with her stealthy maneuvers. She was purring in my arms and I knew right there, she had chosen me. I had to respect that! She had gone unnoticed by me until that point, so I had to take her home. I never even told my hubby that we were getting another cat, so when we got home, I set the carrier in the middle of the living room floor, and went to wake up Ken. I asked him to put the cat carrier away. He looked at me and asked, "Why is the carrier meowing?!?!?!" It was insanely cute.

We brought Schmoopie over to meet her new sister, she was a little afraid at first because she had been an only child for about 8 months. Isis is very social with other cats, so she did not mind at all that she had an older sister. Later that night, they were running and playing, and tumbling through the whole house. When it came time for bed, Schmoopie took her place at the foot of the bed, and Isis jumped up in the middle of Ken and I, and that is where she sleeps. She still doesn't like to be picked up, but sometimes she jumps into our arms, and we gladly oblige. Isis is the noisiest cat I've ever had! She tells us everything, and if we aren't paying enough attention, she gets louder, and butts her head into us until we submit. She's like a toddler! Isis was a feral kitten. She had already had a litter of kittens by the time she was 8 months. Being Feral, she probably had to hunt for food. She has not forgotten this and catches lizards, frogs, and whatever else sneaks onto the porch. The first time we saw her do this, we were laughing so hard. I think her instinct told her to eat the first lizard she caught, but she meowed loudly through the whole time she was chewing. It was like watching a 4 year old being forced to eat broccoli!!! We love our little Isis.
