i adopted clancy from a private owner one day after i decided it was only obvious at this point that the only way kiki and seven would accept another cat in the family was to get a kitten(i tried with 3 adult cats and it failed evey time- i gave those kitties to one cat families). they can sometimes be found sleeping in one big fur-ball on the chair in the sun porch!
