Arrival Story: It started out as curiosity - how do cats travel around the world? What are the rules? Then, day by day, well, she just couldn't wait to see what the other side of the world would be like. Wanderlust? Retired from showing and breeding, in search of a new adventure, Emily and her daughter, Deborah, left Waterdew Cattery of Israel, to live in sunny California.
Bio: Em will make serious growling sounds even though she is getting just what she wants. Sounds ferocious, but is a marshmallow at heart. Purrs up a storm to let you know it is time for food! Then, sounds like you are torturing her while preparing her meal. Hurry, hurry, don't forget me!!! Never happen, sweet Emily. You have us transfixed. We are your humble servants.
My dental cleaning was a bit more involved than I intended. There was one molar of concern - a bit of redness at the gum line. But, oh my X-rays show the truth! I had several other teeth that needed to be removed due to underlying decay. Really! Cannot detect the problem areas until the X-rays are taken. I knew I had a modest amount of plaque, but multiple extractions?!?! Boo Hoo.
I am relaxing on the pain meds and soft food. Getting LOTS of lap time. Thank goodness for the Mad Men Marathon! Tonight is the first episode of the final season. That assures me of prime lap time.
OK so good to know I have only CRF and not any evidence of cancer. I am dining exclusively on prescription canned food for CRF kitties. Will let you know my final selection. So far, Purina NF is acceptable - but, I have to wonder if I would like another. That's what a Diva does - selects her diet.
I expect my kitty family to join me in solidarity and eat this new diet. After all, we are a social eating group. No one wants to dine alone! Put out the nice dishes and placemats. We like a little ceremony with our meals. I meow and turn around in a circle each time my human presents my dish!
After this week of exams and worry, my purr is louder than ever. Remember, I am a star...........in my own mind!
Being a TOTAL DIVA, it is my pleasure to make a visit to the Vet's office and allow all who may, gaze upon my fabulousness. I was startled to learn my blood panel came back indicating kidney problems. Also, a substantial presence of blood in my urine! EEUUWW. What's up? Waiting now for results of a biopsy taken following an ultrasound exam. One kidney appears to be doing all the work - and something is not at all right with the other. CRF is a common enough malady for us "senior" cats - but, seriously? I had no idea!!
Oh - and that Ultrasound Vet? I had to correct her math! She put on my report that I am 11 years old. Please, don't rush me. I am 9 and very sensitive about my age.
Awaiting cytology results and sampling special food for CRF kitties. Phooey. Special diet better mean delicious. I love to eat!
