Arrival Story:
On my husbands truck route he saw someone throw something from a car window and went to investigate. Turns out they threw out a tiny, baby kitten (mean people suck!), so my husband rescued her and she immediately became an important part of our family. She was the most loving, sweetest cat I've ever had. One year later, we brought her to the vet for her check-up and he noticed her gums were very pale, so he wanted to run some tests. Turns out she had a disease called Hemobart, which is very similar to Feline Infectious Anemia. It's passed on to a cat from an infected flea and causes anemia to the point of death and is uncurable. We treated her for a few months and was doing pretty good but then she relapsed. The disease was in full swing again and the vets were suprised she was even alive. Upon running more tests, they found out her kidneys were failing due to the strong meds she was having to take for the Hemobart. So, on December 26, I had to make the toughest decision of my life... to put her down. I know now she's in a better place and no longer suffering but she will always be missed very greatly.
