Finally Feeling Better

Finally Feeling Better!

For the last week, Luna, Zeke, and I have been feeling really crummy. We all had upset tummies because mommy was given the wrong food when we needed more. Apollo, Marlow, and Mommy (Belle) were just fine. Me and my sick siblings had to go back to the humane society twice to get fluids because we didn't feel like eating. Mommy was getting really scared because we all lost a lot of weight. Mommy got us back on our old food as soon as she could, but we kept being sick for a few days. Zeke scared mommy the most, he lost 150 grams is 3 days! But today mommy was able to breathe a sigh of relief because we all stopped losing weight and started gaining again! And just so the rest of you kitties know, tell your mommies and daddies that the kind of soft food DOES matter, AND purine ONE is different from plain purina! Luckily mommy was watching our weights very carefully and took us in as soon as we started telling her we were feeling yucky.

Almost There!

We are all gaining weight as we should, and I am finally up to 2 pounds! Now all we need is to wait for my sister, Luna, to get up to weight so that we can all be fixed. I am spending all the time I can with my siblings at the foster house. We had to move rooms the other day, but it's a lot of fun in the bigger room! My siblings and mom can't wait until we get adopted, then we can rule a whole house! My sister keeps getting impatient about being let outside of the room, she loves to run, and my human mommy goes after her right away and puts her right back into the bedroom where we stay. I can't wait to move to the other house with my foster mommy and my brother, Apollo.

Humane Society Experience

July 5th 2008 3:05 pm   [link to this entry]

Hey everyone, I am kinda scared right now. On Thursday my human mommy took me and my family back to the humane society. My mommy still needed more time in the foster home after we left, so she was sent back. Now me and my brothers and sister are sitting at the humane society waiting to get fixed. I am kinda sad, because this is the last time I will see Luna, Marlow, and Zeke...I'm gonna miss them.

***Luna, Zeke, and Marlow will probably go up for adoption at the Coon Rapids humane society, so if anyone wants to give them a forever home... they will be available monday. (They all have pics and descriptions on their cages)

* I will keep you posted about when Lady Belle, my mom, will be up for adoption.

I'm excited to get to the new house with my brother, Apollo, and my human mommy. I prefer the house over this large space that is so full of cats...it's kinda scary!

Not another delay!

okay, we have been sitting at the humane society since Thursday about noon... they were really busy over the holiday weekend, so they just looked at us today.

Apparently some of the kitties in cages near us have the sniffles... so now we all have discharge. The vet told my foster mommy that we all need another week or two in foster so we can recover from the URI. Foster mommy is a bit disappointed, though, because she expected to pick up Apollo and me tomorrow to keep us.

But the good news is that we ALL get to go live at the new house for a couple weeks while we recover. Because mom and Mira are healthy at the old house, we can't go back there with our infection.

Mom will still get to go back to the humane society sometime this week to be fixed and adopted, so we can't see her again.

I'm really glad about everything, because now Apollo and I do not have to go to the new house alone! We can have the whole gang help us get used to the house before they have to go back... and besides, the humane society is a VERY helpful place, but it is REALLY SCARY! I don't like being in a cage, even though the cages help other cats get adopted.

So, that's the newest news!

Miserable

hi,
I can hardly see right now. My eyes are so full of gunk from this aweful virus! I hate it! But it does let us all get to stay together for a while longer now.

Mommy made the new bedroom perfect for all of us. She added all these toys, and she put a new scratching post in there for us!

Some of my siblings were a bits scared of the new place, but we all had so much fun after a couple hours!

I found out how to jump onto the bed (it's really high!) and I cuddled right up with my human mommy for a nap.

Marlow was obsessed with the new ball toy, he chased the ball around the circle for about 1/2 hour straight. Luna joined him for much of it.

Apollo is becoming more and more in tune with our mommy's feelings. When mommy was excited about something, Apollo bounced all over the bedroom, and jumped on mommy's lap.

We have 2 weeks here at the new house before we get fixed. Mommy swears that this time we can't all come back! She loves us all, but she thinks that my siblings should go to their new homes soon.

I'm gonna miss mommy today...she is out of town for family matters... but that means that our new daddy is in charge to give us our meds, eyedrops, food, water, soft food, and change the litter! I hope daddy knows what to do, cuz mommy won't be back until late!

medicines are BAD!

July 11th 2008 5:02 pm   [link to this entry]

I hate medicine! Eye drops are a cruel invention of humans to make us hold still and suffer! Mommy has to give us eye drops twice a day, and the antibiotics she gives us TASTE AWFUL!

We are all getting along well... and my sister has an update. Luna had a crazt run around the house when she learned to hop over the gate at the door to our room. Apollo has been doing this for a while, but he always comes back when called. Luna was all over the place!

My mommy brought my mother in to the humane society today, she will get fixed this weekend and be available soon...but the humane society couldn't tell us exactly when.

When my human mommy brought my mom in, she found out that mom's original name was Vixen. That name does not fit our mom at ALL...She is definitally a Lady Belle. BUT we were astounded at how well that name fits my little sister! As the runt of the litter, she is sleek and sassy and Vixen fits her SO well! So as of this point, Luna shall be called Vixen!

And I am also learning that it may not be such a great idea to sleep with my human mommy and daddy, they move a lot and disturb my sleeping position. I figure that it is better if I sleep on the floor in our kitty bed.

We are all having a ball and growing every day! I can't wait until Apollo and I are able to run around the entire basement...it's gonna be so fun!

EYEDROPS ARE TORTURE!

July 12th 2008 10:47 pm   [link to this entry]

We have gotten used to all of mommy's tricks. She wants to hurt us! These eye drops are the worst kind of torture! I know mommy means well, but some of my siblings are really starting to not like mommy.

Apollo, Marlow, and Vixen gave mommy some terrible scratches this evening when they got eye drops.

Luckily, our new daddy agreed to help give us the meds EVERY time. He holds us really tight and makes sure there are NO paws flying. Mommy gets to work quickly getting the drops into our eyes and the meds into our mouths.

Apollo is mad at mommy, he yowls really loud and scratches a lot when he gets his meds, but he comes over and loves up on mommy later.

We are waiting to hear when our mother will be up for adoption. We heard that our other foster mom's cousin may be able to keep her...that would be awesome, cuz maybe then Apollo and I could see her!

Recent events

A lot has happened since mommy has had time to write for me. My mom was adopted shortly after she went up for adoption. (My foster mommy gave a few volunteers some hints about a great cat!) And my siblings were all gone in only a few days. Now it's just me and Apollo. We both had quite a scare when they brought us in to have our surgeries. We were so scared that we might never see eachother or mommy again! But everything works out in the end. We are both getting so much bigger! Mommy has pictures, but hasn't found time to get them onto the computer. We are very comfortable with our family, although we really don't care for those kids that keep coming over and squeezing us too hard! Then they chase us down and grab us again, despite our crying! Mommy finally told the kids that they may pet us ONLY if an adult is holding us, they are not allowed to hold us until further notice.

But no matter how bad those kids can be, they don't come over much, and mommy and my family know how to treat good little kitties!

Also, mommy is continually amazed at how SOFT we are... I don't get it, but she really loves our fur!
