Arrival Story:
Cody was part of a litter born to a feral cat out behind a restaurant. Our neighbor was a waitress at that restaurant, her name was Sue. Sue and two other waitresses decided to catch the kittens because winter was setting in and they didn't think the kittens would survive. She caught the orange tabby. She brought him by right after she got home that day to show him to me. It was love at first sight. I held him in my hand and cuddled him close. We always took care of Sue's cats when she went out of town, and she was going away that weekend. Since you can't leave a defenseless kitten alone with adult cats until they get along, we kept the kitten at our apartment. By Sunday night I was absolutely smitten with my little orange fuzzball. I'd wanted an orange tabby for years. My mom said I could keep him if I asked Sue myself and if she agreed. (My mom always claimed this was Sue's plan in the first place) Sue agreed to let me keep him. The greatest gift anyone has ever given me was that kitten. He was my very best-est friend for 18 years.

Bio:
October 15, 1982 - February 8, 2001 He hated my husband on first sight. Every time my (future) husband would come to visit, he'd hear Cody galloping along the walkway in the opposite direction. I remember when we moved in together. We brought Cody in and let him investigate things a bit. He sniffed around and promptly decided to climb the chimney. Thank God we were both sitting right there. My husband managed to grab his tail before he got too far up. So Stan (my husband) is trying to keep Cody from climbing any higher and not hurt his tail. I had to climb into the fireplace, stick my arms up and pull him down. I succeeded, in a cloud of ash & soot. Rushed him into the bathroom and we both got a cold bath (ever try to get wet jeans off? it's not easy!). Never a dull moment with Cody around.
