Amber was rescued at around four weeks old, half-starved and following around a male beagle along with her other three siblings. When I saw her it just clicked - I hadn't wanted a cat, but I just had to have her. My cousin and I took the kittens in. He kept two, a large long-haired orange tabby male named Yellow and a black and white medium-haired male named Zorro. He took the tortie short-haired female to his grandfather, and intentionally left Amber for me. It took a lot of planning and negotiating, but now she is Queen of the house and the back yard.
When I first got amber, she was extremely weak and emaciated. There were signs of abuse, and she is still terrified of black garbage bags. I believe she may have been stuffed into one and carted off. She also has a knot on one of her ribs, and I believe it may have been broken before I got her. She hates all loud noises and the vaccum is her arch-enemy.
