Arrival Story:
We got him in California when we lived there..through an ad in the paper. We'd looked at a lot of cats....I was primarily looking for a bluepoint, since we had lost a bluepoint. Simon turned out to be a sealpoint..and he chose me...I had no say in the matter!

Bio:
Simon was one challenge of a cat. He was highly intelligent...and was a step ahead of me at all times. On the other hand...he was the best pet that has ever owned me. He stuck by my side when I was sick...listened to all my troubles...he learned my language and taught me his. He even used me as a "tool" to convey his wishes to my husband who didn't understand his language. He'd sit next to me with a triumphant look on his face when I passed on his messages. He was a cat in a million...or one in a lifetime. He was primarily my cat...but as he got older and needed strength I didn't have...he turned a lot to my husband for that extra strength. We both loved him dearly and miss him acutely. I promised him that I would let him go when life got too tough for him, but that he would have to tell me. He did just that on April 21, 2008. I wanted so badly to back out on that promise....but I had already wrung everything out of him that he had to give...and he wasn't accepting anything back at that point....so, I wrapped him in the blanket that I had crocheted for him when he was a baby and we took him on his last trip. He went to sleep being kissed on the head and told what a good boy he was...and how much he was loved. sigh. His ashes now sit on the fireplace hearth where his favorite place was.
