Yay! I'm so happy that I found my forever home, yesterday, with a very nice young man who I know will take good care of me and give me lots of love. My foster mom is happy for me, but she misses me soooooo much. It's OK, foster mom. I know it will be all right.

Thanks, everyone who viewed my profile and made friends with me.

Favorite way to snuggle

Hi! I was going to tell you all about my favorite way to snuggle with humans that I like. You see, sometimes I get to playing and running around and exploring for a while. Then all of a sudden I see my foster mom (or foster dad) and I get SO happy and excited I have to run over to her really, really fast! Then I go into full-force super-purring mode and climb on her lap, then I clamber my upper body onto my foster mom's shoulder and put my face in her hair. I can't sit still while I'm doing this, though, because I'm so happy and full of goodness and sweetness. I kind of squirm and roll about and purr. See, I have to share these happy feelings with somebody! ((And the other 3 cats in this house don't really want my love at this time, so too bad for them!)) My foster mom really appreciates the snuggles. She thinks it's so cute when I do this. I know when I get adopted I'll give this same love and snuggle-time to my forever mom or family. Hopefully that'll happen soon.

New photos of moi

My foster mom has FINALLY posted some fresh photos of me and is now helping me write this diary entry. How am I supposed to get adopted if she doesn't pay attention to my Catster page?!?!? It's important, ya know...

Anyhow, I like my new photos. Do you? As you can see, some of my photos show my most favoritest toy ever: MOUSIE!!! There are lots of toy mousies in my foster mom's place, but this green and pink mousie is far and away the best. I LOOOOOVE it! I carry it around with me a lot, trilling and purring as I go. I love to play fetch with the mousie, too! My foster mom will throw it to different spots in a room, and I will get so excited and run after it! Then I will pick it up with my mouth and bring it right back to her. Then she will throw it again, and I will bring it back! It's so much fun. Am I a puppy or a kitten?? Ha ha ha ha ha ha... I make myself laugh sometimes...

Did you know a cat doctor told my foster mom I have a heart murmur? Well, foster-mom then took me to a veterinary cardiologist (which I was kind of scared about) who did an MRI on my heart and found out that my heart is JUST FINE! The heart murmur is harmless and I don't need to have any more tests or take any medication. I'm so happy!!!! Foster-mom is super happy, too. My heart is strong and I know I will live a long and healthy life with whoever wants to adopt me.

So, do you want to adopt me? I can bring my mousie and we can play fetch together!

Purrr, purrr, trill....

After exploring, I like to rest

My foster mom has let me explore outside of my safe room a lot this weekend! It's been really fun, except I guess the other 3 cats that live here aren't too excited about seeing me. They're keeping their distance, though, so I'm not worried.

This afternoon I enjoyed looking out the window. There was a sturdy screen in the window so I wouldn't be able to fall outside. I didn't really see too much out of the window because it mostly looks out onto the wall of the building next door. But I could see out towards the back and there were birds flying around. I liked sniffing the nice breeze that came through the window. It kind of reminded me of my days outside when I was all by myself and scared, but then I remembered that I was inside all safe and sound with my foster family! That made me feel good.

I wonder if anyone will adopt me? My foster mom says she hasn't had any inquiries yet, but she's still hopeful. She also says that a no-kill shelter might be willing to admit me into their adoption program. The place is called PAWS Chicago, and they're the largest no-kill shelter in the city! Foster Mama also says that PAWS has a beautiful adoption facility with rooms that look just like inside a real home. She says it helps make the cats and dogs that are available for adoption seem even more wonderful and appealing. I'm not sure why that is because I would think we're all wonderful just as we are! Anyway, I guess it'd be okay if I went to PAWS instead of staying here with my foster mom. PAWS has a lot more exposure to potential adopters than she does and it might get me adopted sooner than if I stayed here. Still, if anyone on Catster reads my diary, and he or she thinks I look like the perfect kitty, I hope they'll contact my foster mom!

In the meantime, I'll just enjoy being with my foster mom and foster dad. And those 3 other cats, I guess!

I'm getting braver

Every day my foster mom spends time with me, and so does my foster dad, so that we can play a lot and I get some pets. My foster mom says I'm looking stronger and less skinny, and that I'm becoming less shy. I know I'm feeling braver because when she lets me out for "supervised" explorations outside of my room, I like to walk around more and more. It's fun looking at new things and sniffing and seeing more space around me. Sometimes I still get a little scared and I have to run back to the safety of my room, but then I want to go right back out again and explore some more!

There are 3 other cats in my foster mom's place, and I think they get to stay here forever. I wish I could be like them, but my foster mom is worried that I won't get enough attention from her if she adopted me. She says 4 cats would be too many in her small condo! She's also worried that her other 3 cats won't be very nice to me. Well, I'm pretty tough, but those other cats do look kind of big! My claws are sharp, though, so I know I could protect myself if they tried to push me around. Hopefully I'll find my own forever home soon with a really nice person or a family and they'll give me all the love and attention I need.

I'm warming up

I remember now what it's like to be closer to humans--and I love it! They can be very nice to me. I really like to play with them and rub on their legs and talk to them. Once in a while they try to pick me up, which makes me a bit nervous, but otherwise it feels good when they give me pets and scritches!

I can hear my foster mom telling me that I still look pretty skinny. Well, I think I'll be looking much more substantial in a few days, seeing as I'm finally getting regular meals. Hopefully that will make me look even cuter than I already am!

I'm definitely getting stronger every day because I can play harder and longer than I used to. I still need to rest periodically, but then I'm ready to go again, to chase a ball or some string. It's so much fun, I purr while I'm playing!

I'm Suki.

Hi. My name is Suki. I'm a kitten, and I'm available for adoption. But first I'm going to let you know some things about me in this diary so that you can decide if you'd really like to take me home with you or not. Hopefully you'll think I'm someone you'd love to have in your life every single day.
