in lovinig memory

Franz went to Rainbow bridge this after noon. It was a difficult decission but after much talk with the doctor it wa decided that it was best for him. We were able to spend time with him in a quiet room at the Cat Hospital of Portland and say our goodbyes. We will love and mis him always. This is one weet boy that definately left his paw prints on all of our hearts.

Vet update

I am heartbroken to have found out today that Brother is FIV+. The vet says this is why the wounds on his tail have not healed. He is staying overnite at the vet so they can more accurately assess his condition. My grandmother has taken the news very hard. She burst into tears as soon as the vet told us that he is infected. We have some very difficult days ahead. We will know more tomorrow and be able to make a better informed decission. As it stands now, we are looking at having him "put to sleep" so that he does not suffer. Yes, I know that many cats can live long lives with FIV, but his wounds are not healing, they are infected and he is showing signes of gum disease. The vet says this means that he is getting sick and it will be quite expensive to treat him. We will be having Fluffy tested next, and then our other babies. The only thing I can think of to say to comfort my grandmpther is that he has spent some good time in-0doors not having to worry about the things out-door cats have to worry about and that he will not suffer. this is little comfort. As all of you know, cats touch your heart, even if they are just passing thru. I think that Franz has tought us a lesson about love of family. He will always be remembered by us.

I want to thank all of you that have left treats for me over the last few days. Fluffy always gets so much attention that sometimes I feel left in her shadow. She is a very out going girl while I tend to be more stoic and reserved. It wasn't always that way though. Before the attack that killed my twin I was the out going charmer. Back then I was called Nipper because I would get soooo into being petted that I would give love bites. I will be going to an all cat vet on Monday to have my tail taken care of, thanks to some VERY nice peoople at a local rescue organization taking care of the bill. They are unable to take in me and/or Fluffy but it is wonderful that they will help us out with the medical bills. There is nothing seriously wrong with me you understand, I just have some wounds from that terrible attack that have not yet healed up. My foster people really want me to get better and return to my old self. I can tell that they love me alot, they are always giving me treats and talking to me in a soft voice. I especially like the grandma person. She is a non-smoker. I don't have anything against smokers, my other foster people smoke and are very nice people. I just think that my nose is a little more sensative having been feral. Purrrrrrrrrs and headbutts to all, Franz AKA Brother

My sister Fluffy is a featured diary of the day!! I am so proud of her. She really is the more vocal between the two of us so I am really lucky to have her. She is letting every one know that we are out there looking for our furever home. Our foster sis, Sally is also featured in the diaries. What a happy day in our house. I know we will all be getting special treats tonight after dinner. Mom is in such a good mood there may even be treats before dinner! the vet!!!

My foster mom is taking me to the vet. There is a spot on my tail that just won't heal up and it has got her worried. She thinks I may lose my tail! She worries about me all the time. Nice Lady. I guess Fluffy has alot more views that I do and people have been leaving her treats n stuff. That's ok. I know that I will find my very own forever home and that person will love ME best because of how sweet I am. I may not be as prtetty as my sister, but when it comes to sweetness and loyalty I can't be beat!!!

a note from my mom

I have decided that Franz must be part Siamese. He has been very vocal the last few days, talking to the out door kitties. Also because of his narrow face and BIG blue green eyes. He is so funny, always ready to play.He is still kinda shy, but any time a toy is picked up he is right there and ready to go.

Hi there people, my name is Franz AKA Brother. My siblings and I were left behind be our first people but were lucky enough to be fostered by some very nice people. They took us to the vet and had us altered and got our shots. I am still grieving the death of my twin brother Hanz, we were attacked by another animal before our foster family could trap us. I am still licking my wounds and am a bit timid but a real lover boy once I get to know you. Right now my sister Fluffy and I live in a home with 3 other fur babies that were rescues. My family has a big heart but not enough income to take care of so many kitties. I would do best in a quiet home, maybe with a nice older lady. I would love to be adopted with my sister. In all of our time outside we never left the others side. I understand if you can only take one of us though. I am a very gentle boy with no bad habits and I never miss the litter box. Won't you please give me a forever home? I will love you forever and be your love bug!!!
