Mouse's Update - Good News

Greetings Furiends.....I have decided to eat again and am putting on some weight. I gained a whole 1 pound and 9 ounces since last month. I went to the Doc's office yesterday and Doc Julie says I am doing really good again! Go figure!

After talking things over with my Meowmie, I have decided to stay here with her and Daddie and by borfurs and sisfurs for a while longer, and not depart for the Bridge just yet.

Meowmie and Daddie are moving to Ft. Myers, Florida in a week, and I decided that I really want to go there to see what all of the fuss is about. I hear it is warm there and we are going to have a big screened in porch and I will be able to look out and see lizzards and stuff like that.....how can I pass up something that exciting?

I am even going to get to fly in an airplane with Meowmie on Tuesday....FIRST CLASS even! Whoo hoo! I wonder if I will get some kind of treats, maybe a glass of catpange and some catviar, MOL!! Fasten your seat belts....going fur a ride!!

Thank you all for your purrayers of support, I know they helped me make my decision to stay. I saw my Meowmie so sad, and I thought, I just should stay. Also, my furry beautifur wife Princess said it was also time to stay. She wants to go to Florida too...MOL!!

Meow!! Cat of the Day!!

Meow Dear Diary,
I just found out from my Meowmie that I have been chosen as "Cat of the Day" today. All I can purr is that I am really honored and excited.

I Proposed....and she purred "YES"

On Sunday I sent the following message to my most beautifur Princess:

"Hello my Beautifur Princess,
Today is the 4th of July, and it is also my birfday. I am 9 years old, and I think it about time I settled down with the absolute love of my nine lives.....YOU! Since I am such a low key furr-guy and I don't like lots of commotion, I was wondering.....Princess will you marry me? We could elope to my furavorite place....LasVegas, and we could get married, just you and me, at the Little Chapel of the Flowers. That's where my meowmie and furr daddy got married. It was really beautiful, and they provide everyfur. The minister, the flowers, the cake, the photographer....even the dress if you wish. It is not inexpensive, but I have been saving up my kitty cash and have more than enough for us to have a superb wedding. We could fly off in a day or so, even tomorrow, and make this our special, everlasting day.
Please consider my request dear Princess. My life will not be complete without you in it furever.

Welcome to Rainbow Bridge Sweet Sylvester

Dear Diary,
It is a sad day at our house today. I just learned that out dear furiend Sylvester went to the Rainbow Bridge very early this morning after being bitten on the neck by a rattle snake.

Sylvester was one of the special kitties who lived at the Blind Cat Sanctuary in North Carolina.

He was a such a sweet soul. His meowmie suspects that he was curious to find out what the rattling sound was, and as he investigated, the snake bit him on the neck. His meowmie rushed him to the emergency vet, but because of the location of the bite, his outcome was not promising. He went into cardiac arrest from the snake bite.

Finally...an Update!!

Dear Diary, and Catster Furiends,
My meowmie has not been able to write in my diary for a long time because on top on my tummy troubles, meowmie has had some difficuties of her own to deal with.

First, meowmie and I want to say a BIG "THANK YOU" to all of you who have sent purresents, purrayers and well wishes. I could feel all of the positive energy coming my way. So THANK YOU ALL so very much!!

Next, the update. My endoscopy was cancelled by the Vet. We're not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. The Vet had another probelm that day, and so my endoscopy was postponed until the next week. Well, that day came, and the decision was made to postpone again, but this time because I was making some progress.

I am still having B12 shots every week, but meowmie has changed my food once again and I am on a very high protein food, that along with the steriods (that are chicken flavored by the way....yum, yum) has nearly stopped the frequent (all day) diarrhea!! I seem to be feeling well, and am playing with my brofur and silly sisfurs. I only get a little grumpy when Sushi or Sophie try to crowd me out of my favorite "looking window".

Meowmie and the Vet are keeping a close eye on me. I have an appointment with the Vet this Friday morning, and I am hoping that the news will be good.......I don't think I am loosing any more weight, but I'm still not sure.

Mouse's Tummy Troubles

Dear Diary and Catster Furiends,
I know I haven't been writing much lately, but that's because I haven't been feeling furry well. My Meowmie and Daddy have been worriend about me and about a month ago, they took me to a new doctor who is very smart, and know a lot about kitty health problems like mine.
I've had lots of tests done, and I have something called vitamin B12 deficiency. That means I get shots of this red medicine once a week. I also found out that this B12 deficiency can be found in a number of kitty diseases, one is IBD (small intestinal problem) and another is lymphoma. They are treated differently, and so the nice vet decided to treat me for IBD first. I am still having B12 shots, but Meowmie also gives me two other types of medicine, and I am eating a furry special food called z/d to help my digestion.
I am sorry to purr that after all of that, I am still loosing weight and still have furry bad diarhea. Meowmie and Daddie are so worried, and so is the nice vet lady.
I overheard that on Thursday the vet lady is going to do something called an endoscopy. She's going to put a little camera down into my intestines to see what is going on in there. She's also going to take little pieces that someone will look at under a microscope to see if I have lymphoma or not.
Meowmie's eyes started leaking really bad when she heard that.....I feel bad for her....the nice vet said I wouldn't feel anything, that I would just go to sleep for a short few minutes while she looked around with her little camera and took her samples.
Well, I guess I'm asking all of you furs and your meowmies and daddies to purr really hard for me and for my Meowmie. I really don't want to have lymphoma...it doesn't sound good to me. I love my furamily, and I really don't want to leave them yet.

Mouse's Heart is Heavy

Dear Diary,

It is with a very heavy heart and leaking eyes that I write this diary entry. Today was such a very sad day. My very good furiend Sir Sonny Bono went to Rainbow Bridge today after a short, but very aggressive illness.

Sonny was a great furiend, and we liked to pawty together...he took me for rides in his Hummer, we smoked cubans, popped a few Catweisers, and went to the Bunnie Mansion.....(before I had a girlfuriend that is)....and I will never forget him.

Sonny was larger than life, and I know he will be missed by many.

With loving memories from all of us, Mouse, Fuzz, Sushi and Sophie.

Dear Diary,

Well, I'm still not feeling better but the Vet lady says that I'm going to be on a "new" diet and some "new" medicines starting today.

I get to eat some new food called "duck and peas", sounds strange to me....and some medicine called "prednisone". She thinks I may have kitty IBD......humm.....guess I'll give it a try.

Thanks to all of my furiends, new and old, in Catster land who have been purraying for me. I have met some furry nice new kitties, and I know that I have some furry nice old furiends who have stood by me. I'm still not out of the woods (as the Vet says), but she is hopeful that this new plan will work fur me. Meowmie will update in a few days if anything changes.

Mouse's Medical Report

Dear Diary,

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who are puraying for me out there in Catster land. I really can use those purayers and positive thoughts right now because I'm still not feeling good at all.

The vet visit yesterday was very traumatic.....so far I've lost 6 pounds and they can't figure out why. I've been throwing up bile and making a mess out the other end too!! The vet lady was nice....I had 2 x-rays and an exam, and my temperature taken (ouch)!!

I got a big shot at the vet's office, and then all kinds of medicine to take at home.

Yesterday after I got home, I slept all day. I wasn't very hungry at dinner time, so I didn't eat. Today I slept all day, but I was under the big bed in meowmie's room instead of in my regular spot by the window. It's much quieter there and my furblings leave me alone.

I hope this medicine kicks in soon so I can get back to being my good old self again.

Dear Diary,

I've been tagged a bunch of times this past month and my meowmie's gotten behind and hasn't let me play on the catputer long enough to answer them. I got tagged by Princess and I did tell about myself in that one, but I forgot the Thanksgiving one where I got tagged by my furiend Sonny. 1. I am thankful that my meowmie rescued me back in July of 2002.
2. I'm thankful that my human sisfur finally moved away so she doesn't play with me all of the time, just sometimes now when she comes to visit.
3. I'm thankful that I have a really cool cat stand that is by the window where I can look outside and see all of the chipmunks, squirrels, birdies and other fun stuff.
4. I am thankful for my furamily, especially my best bud and brofur Fuzz, and also for my sisfurs who constantly provide me with something to get mad at them for! MOL!!
