Because of the chemotherapy the child underwent, he became allergic to Mae. Her family did not know that letting cats outdoors could expose them to diseases, so when she was surrendered to a shelter she tested positive for FIV.
Unfortunately many people are not familiar with FIV and don't know that many cats live long & happy lives with FIV. Mae sat in the shelter for a long time waiting for someone to take the leap of faith and adopt her.
She finally found someone who loved her sweet face & gorgeous feet! Mae thought she had finally hit the jackpot! She had a home for three years and then the unthinkable happened. Her person died! Poor Mae was in the apartment for days before she was discovered. Bio: Mae has snowy white fur that is very silky to the touch. She keeps herself immaculately groomed. She has a darling little meow and loves to give head butts. Although Mae likes to be queen of the house she will share it with a cat friendly dog. Mae would love to have a permanent home to spend her retirement years in. She's hoping the third time's the charm.
