 Birthday: April 16th 2004
 Coloration: Calico

Likes: Playing "catch" with her toys, cuddling, taking naps on the bed or kitchen chairs, biting her humans' toes when they are sleeping

Pet-Peeves: Roxie, closed doors

Favorite Toy: Q-tips - usually ones she pulls out of the wastebasket! Also, grapes from the refrigerator - she likes to knock them around our apartment and then hide them until we find raisins days or weeks later!

Favorite Nap Spot: Mom and Dad's bed, chairs in the kitchen

Favorite Food: Turkey cold cuts are her all-time favorite, though she doesn't get to have that very often. She also loves her Fancy Feast Wild Salmon and Whipped Egg souffle canned food.

Skills: Pumpkin has the powerful Kitty Stare which, when directed at Mom, makes her do whatever Pumpkin wants! (usually that means Pumpkin gets wet food)

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: We got Pumpkin at a pet store on June 19, 2004, shortly after moving into our apartment. Normally we try to adopt cats from shelters, but we fell in love with her when we visited a pet store just to look around. She was about eight weeks old when we got her - just a baby! She only weighed one pound and had a bloated belly from roundworm. But she's grown into a lively, healthy kitty!

Bio: (Velvet and Tofu live(d) in Arizona with my parents. Pumpkin and Roxie live in Illinois with me.)
Pumpkin was our only spoiled kitty for four months. We lavished her with attention, gave her treats, and played with her constantly. But we're both gone at work and school during the day, and felt bad about always leaving her alone. We decided to get her a friend to keep her company, and adopted Roxie on October 7, 2004. It was a rough start but now she and Pumpkin love running around the apartment, eating, and taking naps together. Pumpkin can be quite territorial and sometimes she will pick on Roxie, but for the most part, they are good companions. They bring us much happiness and definitely a lot of entertainment :)

I'm back from a long Catster hiatus! I've certainly had a productive year, if "productive" can be measured in pounds! I weighed ONE pound when Mommy brought me home in June 2004; now I weigh almost 14 pounds! The last time I was at the vet, they seemed a little concerned by my weight gain. Mommy isn't too worried because she knows that her Arizona kitty, Tofu, weighs 23 lbs so it's all relative!
My mommy and daddy haven't been too happy with me lately because I've developed the habit of pooping on the bathroom rug. They're worried that I'm upset about something - well DUH! Roxie really annoys me! She has this really sweet, cute act and it totally steals attention away from me! I love Roxie and she's fun to play with but sometimes she really gets on my nerves and I attack her - or I get mad that Mom and Dad aren't giving me enough attention, so I attack them! I kind of toned down my act recently because early last week, Mom kept talking about carving me up. Say WHAT?! She might have been talking about that round orange thing she brought home, though.
My humans know that I'm feeling a little agitated and they go out of their way to play with me and pet me and let me know I'm loved. I'm mostly happy with my life but sometimes I just get really P.O.'d that I don't have ALL of Mom and Dad's attention!

Roxie and I got a great Christmas present! It's a huge jungle gym just for us! Well, Mom and Dad keep calling it an "entertainment center" and they're saying that they're worried we'll knock over the DVD player. Well, they just shouldn't keep their things on our new toy! It's so much fun! We run and jump all over it. We also like to sit on the big box in the middle of it - we like watching all the changing shapes on the front of the box and always try to grab them!
It sure was nice of Mom and Dad to get us such a nice gift!

I love my wet food! My mom used to only give me dry food, but then she read that supplementing cats with some wet food will help keep them hydrated -whatever that means. Wet food sure beats boring, yucky dry food! I expect my wet food as soon as Mom gets home from work. I've found that the most effective way of getting it from her is by rubbing up against her legs and purring, then jumping up onto the kitchen table and staring at her as she makes dinner. She always caves!
