Nicknames: I was named after the orange mocha coffee drink since my coat has all the colours of one! Laura also calls me Mokie, Mochalicious, Mochaccino, Mocha Latte, Momo
Gotcha Date: March 30th 2008
Birthday: October 17th 2004
Coloration: Seal-Tortie Point
Likes: my colour's actually "Seal Mink Tortie and White" but they didn't have that ;) My favourite thing in the whole world is being HUGGED! Pick me up and hold me close and I'll put my head on you and just purr, purr, purr! I also love to give headbutts!
Pet-Peeves: Sometimes I get a little snooty if the other cats are getting attention. I'm afraid I've become a bit of a diva.
Favorite Toy: Feathers! LOVE pheasant and peacock feathers!
Favorite Nap Spot: On my Katnap blanket below the pillow next to Laura
Favorite Food: Blue Buffalo Wilderness, chicken baby food, any canned cat foods. Petcurean treats are my favourite!
Skills: I LOVE competing at cat shows - purring for the judges and posing for pics! I also love headbutting any spectators that stop to meet me in the benching area!
Arrival Story: My owner met me at an event for the shelter she volunteers with - Purrfect Pals. There were a bunch of adoptable cats from the shelter and when I meowed hello at her she came over to meet me. When she opened the cage door and bent down to look at me I surprised her by giving her a headbutt and purring like mad. She read my paperwork and found out I'd been an breeder surrender then in THREE homes and now back at the shelter. Two different homes gave me up because they said I was peeing on things. And one even signed me over to be euthanized! Laura noticed that when a little kid ran up it scared me and I cowered and hid. And each time a noisy young kid came up I seemed VERY scared. She picked up my papers and read more of my info and found that one of my former owners had a few young kids. Laura quickly figured out that those kids must have been very mean to me - and that's why I was peeing on things!
After the second day of the event Laura decided she'd take me home and see if her kitties liked me - and if I liked them.
Bio: I quickly became friends with all of Laura's pets but it took me awhile to trust her. I hid in her bedroom the first few weeks then one day I just realized I was tired of being scared and Laura walked in to find me flat on my back out on the futon - not a care in the world!
Laura soon realized something about me - something she'd seen in both Penny and Percy when she adopted them - we'd never seen toys before! Like me, they were adopted as adults and I guess no one ever played with them, either!
I'm a showcat now just like Percy and Penny. And I'm really good at it! I win lots of "Bests" and I've made it all the way to BEST in the Northwest and 7th in the entire WORLD last season! Showing is a lot of fun and mom says it lets other people know how great adult shelter cats are so I don't mind strutting my stuff if it means more kitties will get adopted! At shows Percy, Penny and I are all spokes-kitties for the wonderful adult shelter cats looking for homes!
