Arrival Story:
My biological mom was a stray, and I was the only three-legger in my litter. Friends of my human parents rescued me after my biological mom rejected me and left me to fend for myself in the Oklahoma Ice Storm of 2007. I spent about six weeks living at the local vet's place so they could make me better. I was pretty sick and it was touch and go for awhile. Once I got better, they talked Mom & Dad into taking me home. I was SUPPOSED to be a foster and adopted out, since my Sis is fond of finding homes for cats and my parents already had quite a brood at home. But, I worked really hard to sway them, and when Sis met me for the first time, I knew the deal was sealed. I'm now a permanent member of this household and I couldn't be happier about it!

Pshew! What a trip!

I don't like car rides.

So, my sis and I made the 1100 mile trip from our parents' house in OK to our other house in OH this weekend. It was a very long and exhausting trip. Mom had taken me on a couple of car rides before we left to "acclimate me" , but I don't think it worked.

I got really scared and carsick on the first day and I projectile vomited in my carrier. Or, rather, OUT of my carrier. Good thing Mom put that big plastic lid under the carrier or her car seats would've been DESTROYED. That would've been bad for Sis, since Mom is real weird about her car.

Then, at the hotel, Sis left me out when she went to bed. Normally, when everyone else goes to bed, I go in my room to sleep. Sis thought she'd give me a treat by letting me stay out with her. The only problem was that I wanted to keep playing, because that's what I'm supposed to do when I'm not in my room. Sis ended up locking me in the bathroom about 4 AM. I didn't like that so much.

The second day was better, but I forgot to go pee-pee before we left the hotel so I cried a lot for the first few hours until I fell asleep. I woke up when we were almost to our destination because Sis had stopped and gotten food without me! She let me have a bit of bacon and a couple licks of milkshake just so I'd feel better about myself.

We ended up stopping at Steve's house. Steve is Sis' boyfriend. My new dwelling is on the enclosed front steps of his house. It's pretty great! I have a three-floor house! My food and bed are on the top landing, and I get to talk to Steve's cat, Bully, who lives outside on his upstairs porch. Then, on the middle landing, Sis put my potty, which is nice. I also have a window on that landing that I can hop into and watch the birds. The bottom floor also gives me a window to the world because I can look out the glass panes in the front door. I LOVE the steps. Running up and down has become my new fave past time.

I suppose I'll eventually outgrow these accomodations and Sis will have to move me to our real house, but I'm totally enjoying myself right now!
