(estimation of d.o.b. is june 1st)
Tucky was taken to the ER on June 26 @ around 11 PM for labored breathing, not eating, really not him himself..The test came back and he was anemic (normal blood count is suppose to be like 22% he was like 12%) and his heart had an irregular beat (tht was nothing new to us seeing as we knew he had a funky heart beat for sometime).. So they gave 2 options, try the medicine, or just start with the blood transfusion + medicine after.. we wanted to try the medicine first.. June 28 we took him to see his normal vet and he asked if there was any change.. we said pretty much not so he suggested the blood transfusion thing or to be put down right then and there..Technically he's my grandmothers cat(she is staying with one of my aunts, and her daughter is allergic to cats so we must watch her 2 cats)& she didnt want to do the blood work as it wasnt a guarentee tht would work... She said to put him down.. well that didnt float for me or my mom so we took Tucky to the emergency vet were they would adminster the treatments.. as we were there they did as xray to see what was wrong wit him, and they found out that he had a lot of liquid in his lungs..after the xray they put him in an oxygen tube thing to help with his breathing... appaparntly the first time he went there they didnt xray him.. So they told us they would extract it, run some tests in the mainland to see wat it was.. so we left him there so they could do it all.. about a few hours later on June 28, they called and said 70 CC's had been taken out and he was out of the oxygen thing freely breathing on his own.. the vet said she was pretty certain he had something that she said was treatable.. but there was another thing she thought that wasnt treatable.. anyway they took another blood test she said and his blood count went up to 20% and wasnt 12%.. so the lung was causing the anemia.. the next day on June 29, they called around 6 pm saying the lung had filled up and they extracted only 10 CC's of liquid, which was a good thing becasue all day it hadn't had tht much to fill up, so they were going to see if he could go home tues on monday till the tests came back... the next morning, June 30, about 9:50 am, they called my mom and told her he went into some kinda shock heart attack, due to stress or something, his heart only stopped for maybe a half a min or so, but they got him back and for about 10 minutes there were manually keeping his heart pumping.. they gave my mom the option to put him down or keep treating.. my mom said she thought about it and she didnt think his heart was strong enough.. seeing as they would have had to put him on a heart machine cuz his heart wasnt going on his own. they didnt know if he would make it on his own w/out the heart machine so she said to put him down..they said as soon as they stopped pumping his heart for him, he was gone.. they also said he put up a strong fight..
