Arrival Story:
My new brother Shadow had lost his sister last Christmas and he was sad and depressed. His mom came to the Animal Welfare League shelter on May 4th, 2008 where I had been rescued (its a wonderful place) and she was looking to see if any kitties wanted to join their family. She spent a lot of time there visiting with all the kitties. She was kind and gentle and when we sat together it was very comfortable. So I agreed to adopt them as my new family. When my new Mom took me home and introduced me to Shadow he hissed at me. But I've been around a lot of cats and I know better that boys often hiss when they are scared or sometimes even when they like you. So I was lovey and sweet and in just 2 short days I won him over. We are now best friends. We play and eat and sleep together. He's pretty cute and really sweet after all.

Bio:
I haven't had an easy life but I've been very lucky. The Animal Welfare League rescued me just before another shelter was going to get rid of me. There are lots of cats there looking for a good home and I waited a long time before just the right human came in before I adopted her. Now we are a great family. The shelter had named me Queen however I didn't answer to that so for days my new Mom called me all different names. Finally when she started using just sounds I started to let her know she was getting it right. I tried to help her (I like to talk) and finally she said my name just right. Now she's perfectly trained to call me Raanta. When I'm especially good or especially naughty (like jumping onto the kitchen counter) she calls me Queen Raanta. But she can never be mad at me for long because I just tell her I love her and I snuggle with her and she melts. She's a good human.
