Arrival Story:
When my husband and I decided to get a cat, we visited the local animal shelter. They had just rescued a young momma cat and her litter. When we approached the cage, all the kittens were sleeping except this one stripey/calico kitten. She ran up to the front of the cage and started mewling furiously. I said right away "That one". The animal shelter lady took the little kitten out of the cage and let us hold it. My husband and I took turns cuddling the cute little thing, and we made our final decision to adopt it. We left to fill out the paperwork, but we still needed out landlord's permission to adopt. Unfortunately, he wasn't home when we tried to call. Saddened, we left the shelter. The lady told us that they didn't "hold" pets for people, so we were sure we'd never see this cute little kitty again. After about 45 minutes, we tried calling the landlord again. This time we got a hold of his wife, and her permission was good enough! We drove as fast as we could back to the shelter, and happily, the kitten was still there, looking at us as if to say "What took so long?!" The shelter lady told us the kitten was a boy, so we gave him the boy name we had chosen, Mojo Jojo. (I'm a huge Powerpuff Girls fan). We brought Mojo home, and we were one happy family. We found out later, though, that Mojo is actually a GIRL kitty, so we shortened the name to Mojo. =^.^=
