indoors Arrival Story: She was found early on Monday morning the day after Mothers Day by a neighbor..a sibling was found by the family dog dead and the neighbors were very upset..then they heard crying and found this little one between the shed and the house..and were barely able to reach it..
My guess is that mama kitty was in the process of moving the new family and was seperated from them..
My husband brought this little one home to me to see if I could help in any way..
When I got up to see it, thje best I could say for it was it was breathing , a tiny tiny baby very very cold and not moving..it had no color in it's mouth or nose.. umbical cord still attached..and I didn't think it had much of a chance..
But I am not one to give up until God says *LET GO*
So I sent hubby to get forumla and I just wanted to heat her up..started with a heating pad but it was taking too long..so I put her in a towel and used the hair dryer on high rotating the heat till she began to warm up..then used my hands for body heat..
Got some warm forumla into her and hoped for the best..
For the last week I have been on every two hour feedings.which today I extended.since she does much better when hungry..So now it is every 4 hours..
She has learned to suck on the bottle..kneed her feet while feeding and even is trying to purr..I do think she will make it.. Bio: Spitfire is what she is ,so unless she names herself something different I think this will stick..I have tried to find a nursing mama for her even though I would take her back but >>>Now, I'm not sure I could part with her for even the short 5 weeks for her to be ready to come back home..
She has come up with a better name RYSA which means laughter and she makes us laugh every single day
She also has a *nanny* in our two year old Collie Falkor..who immeadiately adopted her as his and keeps her clean and supervises my care of her..
At present she is living in a box that sits on top of the dresser and the box is on a heating pad set to low..
She has graduated to the rabbit cage and lives in the living room when the dog door is open..otherwise when we close it she is everywhere Lives Remaining: 9 of 9 Forums Motto: I'm Brand New to the World The Last Forum I Posted In: Health chart for Kitty's??? I've Been On Catster Since:
