Arrival Story: Six months after I brought Purza home, I decided she needed a friend. So, I went to the humane society down the street. When I first saw her, I looked at her information and immediately ruled her out. Her previous owner had given her up because she didn’t get along with their other cat. And just as damning, her collar was hanging on the outside of her cage, and it was shredded. This couldn’t be a good companion for my Purza. But the volunteer who worked that room insisted I give her a chance. When she took her out of her cage, her door swung within reach of the cat in the neighboring cage… who immediately tore into it. That was why it was shredded! The volunteer also explained that she was only just 6 weeks old. Her prior owner gave her up at 4 weeks. (Did they give her more than half hour to try to fit in??? grumble… grumble…) Once she was out of her cage, I fell in love with her. She was friendly and playful and curious… and soon, she was my Saki (and she got along with Purza just fine).
