Arrival Story:
Sevin was a pet store kitten. She was very sick when she came to us. She's been happy and healthy ever since! I think she's one of the prettiest cats I've ever seen.

Bio:
Sevin is now almost fifteen years old and was diagnosed with feline diabetes in the middle of January this year. (2013) Her vet recommends two units of Lantus twice daily/twelve hours apart. It's a struggle with her hiding when she knows it's "time" for her shot etc. but this cat is truly awesome. Yes, I've been woken up off and on in the night for YEARS by her biting me and scratching me wanting to eat and I'll have small scars on my arms from her bites and scratches but my hopes are that with going through this disease with her that the scar won't be on my heart. Sevin isn't the typical candidate that gets this disease.......she's never been overweight and she's female. This is a frustrating disease because it's not simple to regulate and it can be expensive. Being squeamish with needles hindered me giving her the shots she needs so my husband and I try to handle this the best be can........I hold her and he does the dirty work! It's annoying at times because I want to sleep and she won't come out from under the bed so I have to wait. Just hoping that we are doing the best for her. I think we are. Wow, she'll be fifteen years old next month. Time flies. Now when she scratches and bites me in the middle of the night after I wake up and realize what's going on........I'm thankful for her still being in my life. I love my Sevin even when she's annoying me.
