Curses! Foiled again!

My Mom is the biggest killjoy on the planet! Yesterday I was out on the porch. It was a nice day ... kinda warm even. And guess what I saw? My favorite bug in the world! A wasp! Yep. A big ol' juicy wasp! So, of course I caught him. No bug is too big, too fast, too ugly or too stingy for me!

I decided to bring him inside the house. I was playing with him, batting him around, watching him try to get away ... and Sugar comes up. And Abner. I'm like, 'Guys, if Mom sees a crowd of us, she's gonna wonder what we're up to, find Mr. Wasp and take him away!' Did they listen to me? Noooooooooooo. So in a minute, here comes Mom the Spoilsport. At first, I was still looking around for Mr. Wasp. I smelled him, but I couldn't find him. Then Sugar says 'Mom took him.' Dang! She always takes my wasps! And those buggers are hard to catch too!

Well, at least it's just the beginning of wasp season. hehehe.

I was just reading Newman's diary and he talks about getting "flashlight feet" that help him walk at night. So I decided I wanted some of these "flashlight feet" and went Googling to see if I could find some. Here's what I found:

And in Korea, scientists have developed a cat that glows in the dark! The article says:
"It appears that scientists from The Ministry of Science & Technology have cloned cats that have a red flourescent protein gene in their body that glows under a red flourescent lamp, helping scientist to isolate the gene. They are pursuing efforts to duplicate the gene so that they can find disease in the body using the flourescent lamp technology."

Hmmm ... I'm not sure either of these will help me when I'm exploring around the house at 5 a.m. I think those "flashlight feet" Newman has are really what I need. Hey Newman! Help a pal out! Where did you get those "flashlight feet"?

I've only been on Catster a few months, so I feel very honored to be in the company of so many pawsome Catster contenders! Plus, now I have something to hold over Ollie's head! Mwhahahaha!

Bug Central

That's what our porch is. Just take a look at the whopper that showed up yesterday! Hooo-wee! That's a big ol' bug!

Unfortunately, it was on the outside of the screen, and I couldn't figure out a way to get to it. I like to twist my head sideways when I'm thinkin' 'bout how to do something. It usually works and gives me a great idea, but it didn't work yesterday.

So the bug lived to see another day. But if he dares come inside the porch, he better watch out! Mom even said she would let me kill him and not beat him with her shoe (see earlier diary entry). She said she wasn't getting near a bug that big and that if I brought him in the house, she might smack me with the shoe!!**

Mom, if I get that bug, I'm not bringing him anywhere near you! He's all mine!

I caught a wasp!

I did! I was on the porch and watched until it got close enough and BAM!, I got it!

I was trying to play with it, but Sugar and Spicey kept coming up trying to get it away from me! I growled at them, so they backed off. But then Mommy came to try to get my prize! I was carrying it around the house with Mommy right behind! Dang ... I ran from room to room to try to get away from her. Why did she want my wasp? She was laffin' and laffin' at me. Hey lady, this is serious stuff! Geez.

Well, unfortunately Mommy got it away from me and beat it to death with her shoe! Dang. All that work and then she kills it! Man. Well, I didn't want it if it wasn't moving. So I let Ollie have it, cuz he likes to eat bugs. But Mommy snatched it away from him, too!

What a spoil sport!

Life is good!

I'm enjoying my first summer. I love chillaxin' on the porch. That's a word Sugar taught me. She says she learned it from another orange kitty, CALVIN. Wowzers. He has some cool beds! That car bed is pawsome!

I enjoy playing with my brothers Abner and Ollie, too. Abner is more fun. Ollie is a wuss. He doesn't like to play rough like Abner does.

Back to the beach ... er, porch!

Just call me Artie!

Havarti ... that's a big name for a little guy like me! I guess I am the color of cheese, but I prefer being called Artie. It's shorter, easier to spell and much easier to pronounce!

I have been at my new home for almost a month. I love it here! The eats are good and the beds are nice and soft, just the way I like 'em! I have lots of big sisters and one big brother. There is also a little guy ... like me ... to play with. I have a feeling he may be staying here too! MOL!

Some friends of my family also just got a new kitten. Her name is PIXIE! Isn't she a cutie pie?! I think I have my first crush! MOL!

Time to go beat up on my big brother Ollie!
