Arrival Story:
Mom was looking for a cat after being cat free for a few years. I guess she just couldn't do without some feline cuteness in her life. I was living with a man who had two other cats but he had a small covered litter box and I didn't like it. I started going potty on the couch and it made him mad. He put me up for adoption through a Maine Coon rescue group and that is where Mom found me. She new I had litter box issues but adopted me anyway. I did really good for awhile but I would always go back to peeing on clothes and beds. I just don't know why but I wanted to real bad. Mom didn't get rid of me though, she set up a nice area on the back porch with a cat tree and my very own litterbox tote. In the winter she gives me a soft comfy house with heat!! Yes, she heats it for me. My water bowl too, so I can always drink. All in all this is a good home considering most would have gotten rid of me by now.

Bio:
I championed as a kitten but I'm very shy and timid and didn't like the show ring at all. I guess that is why my first home got rid of me. Once I couldn't go to the show ring I was tossed away like so much garbage.

Tasso Talks

Peeing everywhere!!!

We've been confined to a room. We've been going to the bathroom in places other than the litterbox. Mom and Sis put us in crates for awhile but as soon as we were let go we went peeing again.

To give Mom credit she's fixed it up with a cat tree and other cat toys.

Mocha, Chessie, Yeti, Casanova, Tasso are all in the room. Yeti is spraying, we don't know how to fix that. He was "fixed" when he was a kitten.

Tasso is back

I got up early this morning before sunrise and Tasso was on the porch. I think I'm going to make him a water bed by filling up a beachball partway with water then putting some bedding over it. It does get hot out there even though it is covered. I have to fix all the broken spots in the netting too. It was the dogs trying to get on the porch from the back yard. I don't know who I get more exasperated with more... the cats making holes in my screens or the dogs tearing up the deer netting on the porch.

Tasso's collar is gone so I'm going to get him another one. It was such a pretty golden one too. Casanova still has his, go figure.

I'm about ready to buy cat collars for all the cats even if they don't go outdoors because, like just recently, you never know.

I haven't seen Tasso.

Tasso isn't on the porch and hasn't been for about a week. I did spot him under the neighbor's concrete porch. I guess he went there because it is dark and cool.

I hope he hasn't gone there to pass to the rainbow bridge. Tasso has a heart condition but I've never seen outward signs. His food keeps disappearing but we don't know if it is him, a stray or raccoons.

I put catnip on his beds outside and have been leaving the porch door open.

Tasso wears a collar with an ID tag but if he is alive and well no one will be able to get close to him so I guess that should make me feel better.

Last summer I shaved him down but it got really hot early so I didn't get a chance to do it. I've also thought about getting him a waterbed because they always stay cool.

I hope he shows back up. He never goes far from home.
