Behind the fireplace.

It's getting cold down here near the bottom of the world. The dogs have been inside a lot more in their crates in the living room, so they haven't been that much fun to tease.

Ali's latest trick is to run into the house first thing in the morning when daddy's alarm goes off. She runs to the bedroom door and meows very loudly outside it.
This causes a huge disturbance with Holly and Xena who sleep in mommy and daddy's room at night. They bark and try and jump through the door - until daddy yells at them in his grumpiest voice, telling them off.
Ali runs back down the hallway and out the catdoor where we both watch Holly and Xena appear in the hallway with daddy who very firmly orders them not to run down the hallway to the catdoor - ha ha!

I have found the most fabulous way to tease the dogs now.
The room that has mommy and daddy's desks in has a lot of boxes of things they have in storage at the moment as well as both of their desks. It's precious things mommy has packed up so as it doesn't get broken in all the earthquakes we've been having.
Anyway, the old fireplace in this room isn't really a fireplace anymore - it's just for show and was demolished when the house was moved. There's this big space in the wall behind it, and yours truly has discovered that a kitty can climb in behind it, but a doggy can't! He he!

Mommy was cross with me the first time Xena and Holly tried to dismantle the big old wooden surround fireplace to stop me meowing at them. She got me out, slapped my bottom and put me out the door.
"Naughty Chloe!" she scolded me.
Now she just tells Xena and Holly off for trying to climb into the back of the fireplace, and she's even put a rug in there for me to sleep on!
As a cat it is most satisfying seeing two grown German Shepherds sitting over the other side of the room watching the fireplace, all the while knowing that if they move anywhere near the fireplace they will incur the wrath of mommy - he he!

Maybe winter isn't such a boring time of year after all!
