Arrival Story:
I adopted Roxanne on May 1, 2008 in NYC from reps for the NorthShore Animal League of Long Island. The truth is though that Roxie adopted me! It was love at first sight -- and I had looked the last 10 days at lots of rescue cats. She is friendly, loving, outgoing, interested in anything that looks like a bug, bird or rodent! She cuddled up to me on the commuter train ride home to my house and slept on me the first night. After losing my cat, Studley, 3 weeks earlier -- Roxanne could not possibly be any better medicine or a source of healing. She is a doll. She is also a biter and licker -- and you never know which one you'll get first! Now she's over a year old, she more than doubled her weight in the 5 months I had her. She is fearless -- she knows if she bites the spray water bottle comes out -- but she just puts back her ears, narrows her eyes and stands tough waiting for it -- never one to back off from a fight! *Update* It's been over a year now that I've had her and Roxie has just hit the magic 2 year mark! I'm hoping that she begins to calm down a bit (we're seeing signs of it already) because she has certainly been a handful. She's becoming a little more cuddly but it's a slow process -- all I'd really like is her to learn to spend a night without trying to wake me up!

Bio:
She was rescued by Northshore from a shelter that was going to put her to sleep.
