Quick Bio:

FOOD. Winter shelter in my barn. Eventually, she accepted my petting and now seeks me out for affection.

Josh, Bukka and Cleo. She likes the alpacas.

Favorite Toy:
A floppy stuffed mouse that I bought for her.

Favorite Nap Spot:
The hay loft or the rafters.

Favorite Food:
Any, just keep it coming.

Slapping Bukka & Josh if they dare to approach her. Fortunately, they just look confused.

Arrival Story:
I was in the barn one evening, preparing for the arrival of our two Great Pyr livestock guardian puppies. A cat waltzed in the door and announced that she would be my barn cat. I protested that I had not ordered a barn cat. "Oh, yes, you did", she replied. "I have the invoice right here." As I gave her food and water, I explained that she was welcome to stay as long as she could tolerate two big fluffy dogs (arriving shortly) and alpacas (arriving in a month). My only rule was that she had to use a litter box. The cat was too busy eating to reply. When the dogs showed up 30 minutes later, she looked horrified and jumped into the rafters, where she spent the entire first night.

I fed Celeste generously through the bitter WY winter, then panicked when she got enormously fat. I thought she had somehow gotten pregnant before I could get her spayed. It turns out that she's just very fat and is now on the kitty version of a Jenny Craig diet- reduced portions & a rafter-jumping exercise plan.

Lives Remaining:
8 of 9

Forums Motto:
I'm the only cat you need.

When she first arrived:
She was extremely shy. It took her a few months to warm up and become affectionate.

I knew I had a cat when:
I bought her a no-freeze electric water bowl. She also uses the litter box- hurray!

Cutest picture I missed taking:
Celeste, sitting halfway up the stairs to the hay loft, gently touching noses with our young alpaca Hurricane.

Book she is writing:
1001 Reasons That Dogs Are Disgusting And Utterly Useless.

Most embarrassing fact:
My vet refused to spay Celeste because she's too fat, which makes her surgery difficult and dangerous. When she loses enough weight, I'll take her back. I haven't seen any roaming cats around here, so she shouldn't get pregnant in the meantime- I hope. Perhaps she's already been spayed, like Cleo.

I've Been On Catster Since:

I'm so sorry I had to leave you. It was NOT your fault.

I will miss your loud "motor boat" purrs and your mysteriously short tail. I will miss how you boldly smacked barn dogs who weighed 100 pounds more than you for daring to be disgusting dogs!

Remind your Dad to pet you sometimes, OK?
