Black and White

Jumping on me at 4 am to see if I bounce. Racing around the house trying to fly by leaps and bounds! Also snuggling up with little brother Calvin. Yes, also really loves food, but is fussier than he used to be!

Not being able to stalk the wildlife outdoors, and Mom not letting me out. You really should open the dorr and let me guard the house from the evil grass stalks and bugs and moving things!!!

Favorite Toy:
Anything that moves under blankets.... Otherwise Boo is does the wise older brother cool thing... till he tries to fly again.

Favorite Nap Spot:
On top of his cat tree - or under the bed if people are visiting, or the vacuum is out...

Favorite Food:
Lettuce. I couldnt believe it either. Also loves anything Fancy Feast, Greenies for Cats, Whatever i am trying to eat.

The ability to jump very long distances, he almost flies! Not to mention his views on philosophy really are out there! Will talk till the cows come home to try to convince anyone to let him outside...

Arrival Story:
It was one of those grey days when everything was going along slowly. I was shopping at a local supermarket, when I found out about a woman nearby was giving away kittens that she had found in her bushes. Something inside of me stirred, and along I went, to see what little ones were there. It was slightly heartbreaking, but the possibilities seemed to fill me with hope. For when I saw Boo, he was amazingly tiny, not fully weaned, covered in fleas, and terrified. I took him into my arms and promised to give him a better go at life than what seemed to be happening for him at the time. Of course, I was in a little bit of a state myself, being in a cast at the time. If you had only seen me! I was an amusing sight, juggling a scared little kitten, crutches and trying not to get too wet in the rain while waiting for the taxi to arrive to take us both home. When we finally got into the house, Boo was bewildered. After a quick look about, he promptly ran under and into the behind of the fridge and refused to come out. So I left him alone till a rather skilled friend of mine was able to get Boo out of the back of the fridge. I had to feed him by hand, and give him a small place of his own to feel safe in. Slowly he adapted and is now the wonderful young cat he is. Very talkative, a bit shy, but also very gentle for a cat with such huge claws.

Boo looks tough, and can hold his own if he has to (but usually doesnt understand other cats/possums or things being aggressive), is amazingly gentle around visiting children who like to give him a cuddle after they have crawled under the bed to get him. Boo isnt big on touchy-feely stuff (unless it is 4am and I really need sleep), and has his cuddle radar keeping watch for any sudden signs of affection so he can run away and play catch me!

My Tail of Devotion for Boo

Hey there my Booboo,

It has been nearly four years we have been together for now. I will never forget that rainy day that led to our meeting.

I had just come out of hospital with yet another ankle surgery, and even with my leg in plaster I still wandered around and did some shopping (with backpack on - yes I am a rather stubborn person). I had gotten home and felt there was something missing from my life.

Glancing at the local paper I saw an advert for kittens being given away not far from where I lived. I gathered up my crutches, hobbled out, and caught a taxi headed straight to the address I had written down from the quick conversation with a stranger on the other end of the phone line.

Upon arriving I was given a cardboard box and there you were, inside - crying out of fear and annoyed at being separated from your mother. You had been found in some bushes with your littermates. You were tiny and scrawny and wailing, covered in fleas and shaking.

I promised you would never be unloved. I took you home with me.

Getting home I peered into the box and you were huddled inside. I picked you up and you barely filled my hand you were so small. I put out some food for you and water, and gently placed you down next to the bowls.

Delicately you moved your head around to look at the strange place you now found yourself within. Then you ran. Ran and skidded on the wooden floorboards. The first time you made me laugh was during this run and you were sliding all over the floors. After sliding around for a bit and scrabbling. you found an upside-down milk crate and crawled under this and peered out. I tried to reach in and touch you. One sudden look at me and then you ran again, this time into the back of the fridge. Literally into the back where the mechanics were!

There you stayed for the rest of the afternoon.

After a few hours I ended up ringing a friend of mine who I knew had long slim arms and could reach into the back area of the fridge. He came over and wandered the house, not believing I had a new kitten till after a bit of reaching into the fridge mechanics, and then out you came!!

I felt we were meant for each other. We both had so many fears and yet so much love to share. We got past the various flea treatments (after the sprays, powders, baths... finally Revolution!!). I watched you grow from a little kitten who would drive me insane (I used to daydream of giving you a sedative till you were 5 years old!!! *giggle*) to the affectionate intelligent young cat you are today.

We grew into each other's hearts and now with Calvin as part of our little family I have a reason to get out of bed in the morning and get things done...and a bigger reason to come home so we can share each others lives.

Thank you Boo.
Your loving adopted Mommy.

Woo! Mom has forgotten about the last time I tried to help her with the computer and accidentally covered it in water. Silly Mom, leaving a big full glass of water on the computer desk, leaving no room for my tail as I tried to type out a quick message to send for pizza. Not only was I denied pizza, but I was shooed away from any computer activities for _ages_!

Calvin and I have loads of fun. He doesnt jump around as much as I do, and he is much smaller, however he is braver than I am sometimes. I watch out for him and make sure Charlotte doesnt turn him into a big sissy.

Any excuse and we race up and down the hallway and try to sneak a look into the rubbish bins.

Mom got us neat new kitty litter, it smells nicer and stuff of course, but best of all, when we paw it across the floor - it ZOOMS!

Zooming is lots of fun - Charlotte even takes part when she thinks no one is watching much. Wow, girls are a lot of trouble, Charlotte practices in front of the mirror to make sure she has her airs or something all properly working. I think she just passes gas.

Ooo - Charlotte is playing with makeup brushes... I think I will sneak up and scare her for fun!

Mom has taken to having her morning cup of tea sitting out on the back verandah steps. Sometimes she leaves the door slightly open so we can wander around the verandah.

The verandah gets a little dull after a while, and Mom looks like she might be falling asleep over her tea. Good thing I am quick on my feet - SWOOSH! Down the steps I go!!

Lots of lovely grass, and pretty flowers for me for frolic in. Look at me bounce! Feel the breeze ruffle through my fur! See the warm sun dance between the tree leaves to dapple across my path! See Mom stagger in her morning slippers trying to catch me!

Alas, alak, alay. Catch me she eventually does. However there will be other opportunities! I may just wait till she catches Charlotte who followed me down the stairs, to make good my next escape!

Till soon,
