Arrival Story:
Cubby had been at the shelter where we volunteer for a long time. He was this nice mellow cat and we could not figure out why no one wanted him. An upper respiratory infection went through the shelter and almost all the cats got sick. Cubby was hit especially hard and when he reacted badly to the medicine, was transferred to the clinic to be cared for. He ended up staying there as batches of kittens and other "more adoptable" cats came through. We were so excited when a couple arranged to drive for two hours from Pittsburgh to meet him. All day we told him that today might be his big day, and he seemed to respond to our anticipation. When they walked in, the husband took one look and said, "I don't want him." He wouldn't even let his wife look at the other cats. They left and our hearts sank. Since Cubby got to spend the most time out of his cage when we were there, he bonded with Mom T, on whose lap he spent many Saturday afternoons. Finally one day Mom T finally said what we were both thinking... that Cubby should come home to live with us. We took him in under foster care and later officially adopted him.

Bio:
Cubby likes pink, I mean, he REALLY likes pink. When he was still at the shelter, we and the cleaners noticed that he seemed happier after his cage was cleaned if he got a fresh PINK blanket. A point was made to try to have one on hand whenever it was time to change his bedding. Cubby now gets all things pink - beds, blankets, toys, collars, tags. He is one happy fella in pink. He gets along fine with other cats (and dogs) as long as they do not pick on him. He loves to be in the kitchen when we are cooking and enjoys sampling the ingredients, especially the cheeses. We call Cubby Knut's "mom" because he took such good care of Knut when he was a baby. Knut still runs to Cubby to get a bath.

Cubby's Gone To The Bridge

Our sweet Cubby went to the bridge after a very brief illness. Mom T visited him in the hospital and a few minutes after she left him, he went into cardiac arrest. We both know he held on long enough to say goodbye and waited for her to leave. He was like that. We miss you so much, Chubman.

I've been on this awful diet for weeks now and I loathe it! They are feeding me only the very smallest amount of food several times a day. I feel I shall die if I don't get some treats soon! Please! Can't someone hear me??? I need TREATS! I'm wasting awaaaaaayy... Aye?Is that a waist?? I have a waist now????? Now where do you suppose that has been all these years?? Rowr - Is it hot in here or is it just me?
